| I am really this guy.
I believe that link gives enough introduction, for the internets-aware, anyway. |

| HDD Health is a very good freeware tool that monitors your hard drive's S.M.A.R.T changes over time and gives you a nearest TEC date (aka DEATH DAY), which would be rather useful if you're cautious about working with older drives, such as the 13gb Maxtor 7200rpm drives sold in 1999 that are going to die this year. This update is quite significant actually. Try dynamic core w/ auto cycles, you can play Blood and even Quake (yeah, proper ports exist) at decent framerates finally
(however of course, an athlon64 3200 is ideal for this speed.) other than that, running windows for workgroups 3.11 is rather helpful for trying to use 16-bit applications in a 64-bit platform. Right now the only problem I have with 0.65 is the video codec used to capture, because it's not supported in Windows XP x64, and FFDshow sorta supports it but swaps the red and blue channels, so Blood turns into SmurfKillathon6000. | For burning, there's CDBurnerXP Pro 3 which is actually good no-crap freeware, but unfortunately backed by a suspiciously stupid spyware-esque name.
and like I mentioned in the other thread, HDD Health can help you be more cautious about hard drive death, by monitoring S.M.A.R.T values. |

| If you're into 3D, then try Blender. It can also do UV mapping, animation, and basic skin painting as well as rendering using its internal renderern or Yafray. It's also multi-platform Free Software.
If Blender's unique UI turns you off, you may want to try Wings3D. It does less stuff though. A good companion app for these to create detailed subdivided hi-poly meshes with is the early-in-development SharpConstruct. It's like Zbrush2, but not that annoying, and Free Software. | Love is a happy time all throughout the universe.
Its when the male part of the species goes to the female part of the species and says, "Hey, you want to go on a date?" And then she would say "Why, yes, I'd like to go on a date" if you're lucky. And then you go to a restaurant, and she gets something called a salad, and then he gets a big piece of beef, that he eats. And that to me, ladies and gentlemen, is love. Kinda makes you cry, doesn't it? heh. |

| I like this.
The background is a bit blurry, but you could render a nice crisp 1280x1024 wallpaper with a lot of these crystals (just not too much or it will look way busy) |

| Dominant Species for $5 found in a bargain bin, while it was also still being sold for the full $45 price in the same store in 1998. Odd! | |||

| I just ran into a glaring bug or so.
A particular scene in F-117A's take off animation (for both the intro and the mission starts) animate very, very very slowly, causing a 2 minute wait for those who wish to not skip them. Apart from that and the codec thing, DOSbox is aok. |
