I'm a member of the Fire Board and I just said board right, Whee, I'm from the 1%!

Anyway, I'm sad from what happened, and I told them to not "attack" (in quotes because, I can't consider a dumbass derby an attack) Acmlm, I told them it was dangerous, and now, all the posts are gone, but I don't know if the whole board deserved it, because it was Spiderman3's fault.

PS - I'm Mexican, so sometimes I make grammatical mistakes (Like "Thank you for read"), spelling mistakes (Like wont instead of won't) and typos (liek), but hopefully, that doesn't make me a retard.

Yes, here it is.

Also, even though this isn't my first lenguage, I can read all those "unlegible" messages just right, you just need to change where with were or we're, thair for there, their or they're, and so on; it's common sense, if the text makes no sense, just change a bit of it and then you get it.

lok liek tis hey guyz r u 2 be reding wat im sayin jo

Would mean:

"Attend to this, ladies and gentlemen, in this very moment, you are reading what I typed out with my keyboard."

But it doesn't need to be that way, the idea needs only to go across, as it does.

I did try and work it out step-by-step, and I did come out with 2nd cousin once removed, but I was told that was wrong.

If I start from Mark, that would be my Great Grand Uncle.
He than married Doris, so that would presumably make her my Great Grand Aunt.
If Gladys is Doris' sister, would that also make her my Great Grand Aunt?
If so, her daugher, Sue, would be my 1st cousin twice removed, and Josh, would therefore be my 2nd cousin once removed.
I was told that my Great Grand Aunt (by marriage)'s sister wouldn't be anything to me, but I'm sure she'd also be by Great Grand Aunt.

And er... in the sentence: "This is the greatest post of intelligence sin--" whats the rest of the word "sin--", and the rest of the sentence?

Yeah, it's another one of those questions. Anyway, I was just wondering, just before you get to a hill (this is in the UK by the way), there are these signs that say either "1 in 10" or "1/10" or as a percentage, e.g. "10%", but what exactly does that mean? There's a road in Caterham, Surrey (England), called Church Hill, which has '16%' on it. First I thought it was 16% of 360-degrees, but that's about 57-degrees, and I thought that's pretty steep, and then I found this website which has a list of 'Road Records', and said that a road in the UK had a '1 in 2.7-2.9' gradient, which in that case would mean it's upside down, which then led me to thinking it must mean '10%, 16% or what ever percent of 180-degrees', so a '10% gradient' would be on an incline of 18-degrees, and a '50% gradient' would be on an incline of 90-degrees, i.e. vertical. However, on this website, it had all these weird things about '1/10 on rail means sin(1/10) but on a road way it's tan(1/10), and things like '1/2.93 on a road is tan(arcsin(1/10)) and other weird trigonometrical mumbo-jumbo.

So, anyway, basically, what does '1-in-6' '10%' etc mean? (Or even, is there a formula that converts the 'percentage' to the 'degrees on incline' or whatever?

Well that would explain the trigonometry. So in other words, to work out the gradient in degrees, for a '10%', the 'opposite' and 'adjacent' sides are used, so it's 'Tan(gent)' we should use. The gradient = Tan(Opposite/Adjacent), in this case, Tan(10/100), which is.... less than 1?? Unless it should be Tan-1 (inverse tangent)?

EDIT: OK, I think I found a formula to convert the gradient as a percentage into degrees:
=180/PI()*ATAN(0.1/100) <--- this is to calculate a '10%' gradient

The general formula would be "=180/PI()*ATAN("slope"/100)" but it doesn't seem to work properly.
Apparently a '100%' gradient is 45 degrees, but if I type that as a formula in Excel, it comes out as 0.572938698 radians*, or, in degrees, 32.8269693.

In words the formula is "180 over pi, multiplied by the arctangent of 1 percent of the slope" in other words, a 15% gradient would be "180 over pi, multiplied by the arctangent of 1 percent of 15 percent, or "180 over pi, multiplied by the arctangent of 0.0015" but it comes out wrong. How would I go about putting the formula into excel?

*Note: Excel seems to display the formula in 'radians' rather than 'degrees', so the the formula actually is "=DEGRESS(180/PI()*ATAN("slope"/100)

EDIT 2: Don't worry, I just found another formula which does work:

It's simply the arctangent of the slope, full stop. In excel, this is:
=DEGREES(ATAN(A2))

I drew a flat line in Word, and then, changed its properties to change the angle of rotation to that of what that above formula gave as a '16% gradient' in degrees (just over 9.09 degrees). I've been on a road with a "16%" sign, but this line looks less steep than a road I went on with a "10%" gradient.
The two roads in question, if you want to know are:
Church Hill, Caterham, Surrey (UK) = 16% and
Redstone Hill, Redhill, Surrey (UK) = 10%.

The second, of course, but the first isn't always the case.

I know persons, that are very good at programming and at making music and banners, and that by having a chat with them you can clearly see that they're indeed intelligent and whatnot, but they're very lazy, so they don't use Caps at the beginning of their sentences nor a period at the end. Or may make stuff "hard to read", or just go "lmaomgwt*bbq".

I just wanted to say, that just because a person writes like that, it doesn't mean it's stupid, it could just be laziness (They may not notice they're doing it, and they're not doing it on purpose to bother others), I can compare this to the graphics of a game, NES graphics are crap compared to today's brand new games, but some NES games are just as good, or better (I'm not talking about post's content, because there can be good content writen badly, and bad content writen correctly (Maybe, like mine), that's another history, and I may have to agree, that 99.8% of posts that are written badly have not good content too).

I don't defend that kind of speaking (oterwiz med be tipin' liek tis), I'm just saying it must not be related to stupidity in all cases, but more to laziness (And I heard, english is the lazy lenguage), I also dislike acronyms, instead of saying "Haha! I found that amusing! Did you made that up just now?" people go "lol"

PS - Otherwise, I agree with you 100%.

Poeple write bad stuff like that, because they are trying to comunicate like when we are talking, that makes them type the stuff as if they were speaking, focusing in the pronunciation of what they are saying (U instead of you, R instead of are, etc.), try reading their sentences aloud, and they'll sound almost as if they're are writen correctly. (unless there's a h somewhere that severly changes pronunciation).

Those persons are called n00bs, just because they are ignorant of how words must be writen, or they don't care. Persons like me, would be regarded as Newbies, just because we try our best to type down sentences easy to understand and readable.

I just find wrong people laughing at other persons like "SEE! HE CANNOT SPELL BOARD RIGHT!", and don't like it. Disliking bad communication is one thing, but making fun of other people's spelling is another very diferent one.
