| right-click, properties, program, uncheck 'close on exit'.
This works by creating a shortcut rather than doing anything to the actual program settings, but it's the best Windows has to offer. |

| Make a backup of the program's registy entries. It's not that difficult.
And most programs will recreate the registry entries if they're missing, anyways. |
