I just got my new tablet, and was playing around with it and Windows' on-screen keyboard.

<Kailieann> The quick broen fjcx jumps over the lazy dog
<blackhole89> "Fix, Schwyz!", quäkt Jürgen blöd vom Paß
<blackhole89> the above sentence is sometimes used for typographical samples in German
<blackhole89> it pwns the jumpy fox in that it actually only has each of the letters abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzäöüß exactly once
<Kailieann> I'd love to see asentance (paragraph) that uses every syllable in the Japnese languagge
<blackhole89> there was this one old Japanese poem
<blackhole89> which they used for ordering Kana before the new, romanization based consonant/vowel sorting
* Kailieann was standing over by the bed and read that as 'there was this one old japanese porn'
* Joins: Kattwah
* tuna sets mode: +v Kattwah
<Kailieann> Welcome, Kattwah. We were just discussing old Japanese porn
<Kattwah> And I needed to know that... why?

No Wii for me. I'll just keep checking FutureShop and Amazon until they have one.

I'm quite sure the people who design the hacks test all their levels without savestates. If you can't do it yourself, then it just means you're not as skilled a player as they are.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Lord knows I resorted to gameshark at least once in the original Second Reality.

This should go in the Wii thread, along with the rest of the 'totally posting from a Wii' posts.

Ace is still around, if you know where to look.

The ads are there to pay for the server's host, same with just about any other site.

And the primary issue is people not putting in visible separators for their signatures, so that they have a tendency to blend together with the rest of the post. Which is extremely annoying.

We don't expect people to be perfect. We expect them to read the rules and display a shred of common sense.

Yes, Alice, the new version of ZSNES was already mentioned in this thread.

In glancing at editprofile.php, though, said option appears to default to 'none', and it's buried in the middle of all the other miscellaneous options instead of up with the signature itself.

Probably because of netplay.

Or because people are too damn lazy to update.

The fact that this screenshot is even possible without exploiting any bugs is testament to the poor design.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game up until I got to the Guardhouse.
Then I spent about an hour and a half like this:

Oh, look, there's a locked door.
*runs around and finds a key*
*unlocks the door, continues forwards*
Oh, look, there's another locked door.
*goes back to the beginning of the level*
*runs around and finds a key*
*unlocks the door, continues forwards*
Oh, look, there's another locked door.

So far, in an hour and a half, (the half being actual gameplay, the hour being pointless, annoying backtracking), I have found four locked doors, three small keys, and one big key.

You'll also notice from the screenshot that, using key #3, I unlocked door #4. So now I have Zelda, but no sword or shield. Again I say the fact that this is even possible = poor design.

Add to this the fact that the big chest (which I can only assume is there purely for decoration) is ignoring the fact that I have the big key (which can be clearly seen in my inventory), and the fact that I have no $#*&(& clue where the fourth key is..

Yeah. So, I give the overworld design an 8.5 out of ten, and the dungeon design gets a 0. Please try again.

I beg to differ. Bad level design is bad level design, regardless of how long it takes.

Levels -- especially in adventure games like this, should be at least somewhat streamlined, and not require the player to spend hours going back to the start of the level over and over again to find item after item.

As I said, everything up to the Guardhouse was great, but once I actually got there..

*shrug* I prefer games that are fun, not frustrating.

I would only like to add that even with the judicious application of savestates and cheating, this hack is still annoying as hell.
