Interesting, yes. But also disturbing. This affirms the deterioration of society, when there exists people such as this... their life is a pipe and their reality is hallucinating. It's sickening when the weak turn to drugs to attempt and correct their already disheveled lives. On another note, your reaction to the whole situation was pretty standard, I would've probably just left her when she found the crack. I hope for your sake she doesn't call you up, man.

In my opinion, the tree/bush motif does indeed give more of a feeling of safety, the barren Ex. B makes the sun more of a focal point, and the feeling of "It's hot" is more clear and present.

This says it all. Really. Approval would be an improvement at the very least. I believe the only reason it is not read-only is because some respected members did not wish to have to be approved in order to post there, so the plan was revoked at the last minute. I'm not completely certain it is for the best, but in my opinion, the approval system would work in ROM hacking too.

First of all, in a forum such as this, it is not the quantity of posts in a topic that makes it good; it is the quality of said posts, which I'm sure you know.

Next, how hard is it to ask for approval? It takes about 5 minutes of time to present yourself in a rational manner to help BMF tell that you're not a complete idiot. 5 minutes. It is not that much trouble, and any new person who comes here and cannot figure out how that is done (through previous examples, reading FAQ, etc.) doesn't belong here anyway. It doesn't take being a rocket scientist to be approved. I have zero pity for idiots who either can't figure out how to be approved, or who "don't feel like" being approved. Maybe if the new people give a little effort, they could be posting in ROM hacking in no time, if the approval system were implemented there.

I just don't see how people who only want to post casually can't take 5 minutes to post an approval topic. And it is even easier for those new members who have created hacks that they wish to release, because they can show off a few SS in their approval topic, draw some attention to their work, and when they release this hack in ROM hacking it will be that much more visible to the forum. The downsides are just too insignificant at this point for me to change my opinion on the subject.

Sony Vaio laptop, 1.66 GHz, 1 GB RAM, does everything I need and more. My other computer, a pc, pales in comparison but I don't remember the specs. The laptop cost me $1500 or so, PC only $600.

On Myspace, there exist ads for a website nicknamed "True", a dating-type site. The women in the ads are usually looking really promiscuous. The problem with this is only that its annoying to have people around me on the computer and to come across dating site ads all the time, especially if its parents that are walking by. Another set of annoying ads would be pornography ads on some favorite torrent search sites... bargh.

To make your post have black text, just type "[ black]" in your post header, and "[ /color]" in your signature. And don't use the quotation marks or those extra spaces when inserting the codes. That should do the trick.

My only addendum to this would be, to make sure your width doesn't exceed 900 or so, and the height shouldn't be too much, maybe 400 px or so, at a guesstimate. Width would probably best be left at 100% IMO but height should be modified to expose more of the image.

It is much easier to create a layout with a background that can be repeated, like a pattern. An example would be a starry background or something of that nature, it can be repeated over and over to fill the space, and doesn't require the post to be a certain size. The background image you chose shouldn't be used without a lot of work because if it repeats in the post, it would look stupid. A simple background of one solid color would also work nicely.
