I'm here now, and I'm usually online either on the board or YIM... my Yahoo! is metallica_4_20 just in case you need that.

Hello, and as is obvious, my alias online is Dr_Death16, and I would highly appreciate the chance to continue posting in the ROM hacking forums of this board. Through prior posts, you can discern quite a lot about my habits of posting overall, so I won't discuss myself not being an idiot because that's your decision. However, I admit my direct ROM hacking contributions are not many, for a few years I've been starting small by working on/studying sports games for the NES, such as Baseball Stars and Tecmo Bowl, as well as doing the same for Pokemon games on Gameboy. However, I do have an open project, hacking the game Bionic Commando for NES and returning it to previous glory as the Japanese Hittora no Fukkatsu: Top Secret. I'd like to be around to release it to the public, although I'm not sure how popular the game is overall.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to stick around the ROM hacking forums.

The idea is okay, the font is pretty good, and the sprites aren't bad. With a lot of time you could really have a good hack on your hands. Only thing I'd suggest is to change Venusaur's expression; it looks like it is about to drool, as if it had gotten high on its own flower spores or something. Pidgey isn't easily discernable either, but it is passable.

Chad Greenway, 1st rd. pick of the Vikings and a linebacker, is done for the whole season already. He's from my University of Iowa, too. Otherwise, I think its pretty good for my Packers, who need all the help they can get this year.

I want both this and NCAA 07, NCAA might interest me more because of the redone "Race to the Heisman", which is more realistic this time. All in all, Madden 06 sucked a lot of time from me, and I expect nothing less from 07. I never did get 100% accurate with the vision cone, though, I had to have a QB with good awareness to be very effective offensively.

I'm probably not going to be a fan of blocking for myself, it just seems, not fun. I'd rather let the AI do that for me.

I was able to import the most accurate rosters I could find into my 06, but of course, software restrictions kept me from having a franchise file with that roster. Plus I hate the faces given to CAPs.

Is there a point, Alex, to what you were saying? If you're just trying to find someone to argue with, then you're in the wrong place. If you don't like the Madden game franchise, then avoid this topic at all costs. Don't waste your time and ours just to get that postcount ++ and ego +++.

About the SPC thing, the reason why I want the WAV recording feature is so I can record some soundtracks and burn them onto CD. I don't have a program that allows you to record sound from the computer, so I needed the WAV record option.

Thanks for your help though

Heck, depending on the game you're trying to rip WAV's from, you might be able to find a soundtrack for it, or an OSV. An obscure game probably wouldn't have one, though.

I don't know how much time I'll have on saturdays to watch the games... and since Young/Bush/Leinart etc. left school I'm kind of turned more towards the NFL this year, but I still plan on keeping up with the CFB season. I'll have to wait until a little while into the season before I get too intrigued by any certain schools or players.

The graphics look great from what I can tell, and the commentary isn't bad either. Madden and Michaels did get annoying after a while.

Due to a 7 round draft process to cycle rookies into the NFL from college, creating 200+ players a year is not plausible. Add that to the multitude of player movement, and creating an accurate updated roster is very time consuming. In addition, in most games, adding that many players to the game causes errors because the roster becomes too big, or the free agent pool becomes full, etc.

Ugh, this is why I have no motivation to spend a load of money on new games or systems; the producers always find a way to overlook obvious problems with their software. I'll end up waiting a while before buying anything new.

Same here, if it weren't for Ohio State, I'd say my Drew Tate and my U. of Iowa would be the favorites in the Big Ten.

How does immediately fixing it via a patch equate to overlooking the problem?

They overlooked the problem once when they created the game, is what I am referring to, regardless of the fact that they're fixing it. The perfect example of what I have problems with is the original ps2 when it came out, it had serious defects that were fixed later, such as the faulty optical drives, etc. All in all, I'd rather wait the storm out, and buy a complete and probably defect-free product, even if I have to wait a little longer than others.

You misunderstand, it's an Xbox Live patch that you can download for free. They haven't announced wether or not future waves of the 360 version will need the patch or not. The versions for other consoles aren't affected.

But yes, I completely agree how ridiculous it is that it slipped through play-testing.

And if one doesn't have XBOX Live, then what? That's expensive as hell, really, the patch is free but the service isn't. It'd be ridiculous for them not to release a new version for the console if there is such a large bug.

The Xbox Live service for the Xbox 360 is completely free if you already have a high-speed internet connection in your house.

There is a better Live package with more features that you have to pay for (Silver vs Gold), but you don't have to have that to get the patch.

Well, not to sound persistent, but what if one doesn't have DSL, Cable or T1? My point is that I just can't see them assuming that consumers can all obtain the patch... they're going to have to rectify the problem the right way, if they want to avoid that scary thing called "lost profits".

Posted on 08-18-06 07:29 PM, in Minimum Wage Link
Minimum wage goes against some laws of economics, mainly that supply and demand should determine price in a market, not price floors, and that government should have as little effect on any economy as possible. Price floors usually result in two things, shortages of jobs, and the black market, in this case paying illegal immigrants or etc. considerably lower wages in return for a place in the country. Another example is the outsourcing of jobs, but that's another topic altogether.

After surveys of my high school population, a new principal came in and slowly began fazing out soft drinks, candy, unhealthy snacks, etc. from the school. Fortunately I just finished high school last year, so I don't have to worry about that. But personally, I think it is not a great idea for schools to attempt and control what its students consume, that's more of a parental problem than anything.

Alertjr... in case you haven't been told, you're not supposed to post in threads that haven't been posted in for longer than a week or so... that's bumping, it gets threads closed, and you banned. Just be careful, man, and think before you post.
