The two things I do when in similar situations are these: I either drink a lot of fluids, or go to sleep. Otherwise, hunger never seems to just leave my mind when I want it to.

I don't think Acmlm, Xk, or most members would want the banner changed for anything... even for a really good piece of art. The banner is just... symbolic.

People need to quit crying about this, unless their own family died because of it, or they celebrate/mourn EVERY death the same as another. Frankly, the stats don't lie; less than 3000 people died on that September 11th, and more than 3000 civilians have died in Iraq in the last month. So, are you all mourning the Iraqis who did nothing wrong but died the same as the Americans? No? Oh, okay. I'm sure Iraqi citizens didn't ask for daily aerial attacks, tanks rolling through their cities, or the probability of being taken by American forces to Guantanamo Bay without warning at any time. Same as those in the WTC didn't ask to get incinerated and destroyed along with those crumbling towers. It is my opinion that this whole nation needs to move on.

Wrong. I'm American and I essentially said the same exact thing. BH is right, and just because he is European doesn't mean he can't make rational judgements as to the American obsession with their people dying and no other deaths meaning anything to them. And for the record, an emotion-filled retort with no supporting information as to why you feel that way really accomplishes nothing. The huge text says it all, you're just being emotional like all the others, and not thinking clearly about the world as a whole; there is a world outside of the borders of the United States, and everyone should try and remember that before crying for the deaths of some and not others who may have suffered worse and more unjust deaths.

I worked there for a few months. Trust me, if your Wal-Mart is anything like my local one is, you'd be working for pretentious, over-the-hill women with no lives other than to bitch at each other and the people who work for them. The management here is so idiotic, that they were able to grossly miscalculate my days missed in a month, and tried to blame me for their own mistake. Same day that happened, I told them I had better shit to do than sit around and waste time talking to them about attendance when I had only missed 2 days. It's a much better idea to avoid somewhere like Wal-Mart where the workers are incompetent, managers are seemingly useless, and the customers, well, I'm sure you know something about those already.

And by the way it only becomes a balk if the pitcher doesn't take his foot off of the mound. If he simply throws to first base while taking his foot off, he's merely attempting a pick off.

Balks allow all runners to advance one base. Pick off attempts are completely legal.
