Why would you feel bad for taking typing classes? you look more intelligent in this thread if you don't have to hit backspace all the time 
I took a mandatoey typing class in 9th grade for one semester, but it didn't do much for me. we didn't even have to test on whether we could type without looking. it was mostly spend learning how to use excel and MW Word. That's MS. stupid no baskspace rule. ='( |

So NOtNormal (...wow, sorry): Yeah, I had to take a class in 9th grade. It has since been cut from the required class list, but when I was a freshman, it was still required. I didn't mined it, it was easy and fun and generally a complete waste of time. A lovely break from actually classes that mattered. |

I go on upside down rollercoasters, while many of my friends refuse. I went on my first one when I was about 10, when I was tall enough. Scared the crap out of me the first time, but now I love it. Oh, and I went rafing in a tube and tube alone in semi-white water. It was not by choice, I was lied to.

I got my license last May, after having my permit for 6 months as well. I got both the permit and the driving test passed on my first tries, yay me. Have you done any behind the wheel lessons for your driver's education class? Or is that just a CA thing? My first time driving (aside from my mom letting me drive in an empty parking lot once for a minute or two) was a lesson with a driving instructor, which is required here. 3 of them, 2 hours each. My first one... I was terrified. I had never been on the road before, never really used the pedals because in parking lots, it's pretty slow... but it only takes one time to get the hang of it, and then you'll get comfortable and be able to practice on the smaller things. The sort of things they look out for when you do the behind the wheel test in July. Have fun!

I couldn't stay in the middle of my lane while driving, and I forgot about all the places one has to look, and I was horrible with controlling the accelerator... but damn, I could park.
Now at least parking isn't the only thing I can do well while driving.

It's 6 months here if you're under 18, but if you're over 18 you can take the driving test the same day as the permit test, if you pass it. |

For most of these typos, I correct them and then go back and put them back bacuse I remember after I fix them. It's such a habit, I hate having typos in a regular post.

well yeah, you'd have to wait a little, but there's always some time of the day that the DMV isn't swamped. Like a Tuesday morning, perhaps. |
There's really no real need to get your license the same day as your permit though.. so no big deal.

So, do you work? If so, what do you do? Is it a career, or just a job to pay for the necessities until you start your career?

If not, do you plan to any time soon? LETS HEAR ABOUT JOBS. I'm 16, so I'm new to work. I started in September, working at the local grocery store called Pavilions. My job was a courtesy clerk, bagging groceries and assisting customers with anything they needed. I also had to collect carts. Boring, dull, and for minimum wage (not to mention Pavilions is part of a union, so I lost an average of $10 a paycheck). I quit that job a few weeks ago because of the union. They were demanding that I pay upwards of $500...no. Now I work at an ice cream place called Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery.
It's fun, to say the least. I get paid above minimum wage, no union fees, and the work is much easier. Plus, I get a 50% discount for working there. Can you say SCORE?
Certainly not a career, but not a bad job for someone my age. What about you?
