You are in the bathroom at somebody else's house, with feces spewing out your ass like never before. You finally get the last of them out and reach for the toilet paper...and you see that there is none. You decide that you have to use an alternative means to prevent...uhh...an ass clog. You have four choices. No matter what you choose, you would get away with it. They wouldn't have any idea that it was you, and would not believe you if you confessed to them.

- A Bible
- A new magazine, unread as of yet. The subscriber really loves this magazine.
- The front page of an old newspaper within a special-looking compartment. On it is news of the family's oldest son's greatest achievement, and it was a world-changing event.
- Panties in the laundry basket, the only item in there...however, you know that the owner has many STDs.

Those are the only four options you have. Now, this was a very big dump you took. Simply put, not wiping until you get home or using your own clothing is not an option.

NOTE: This is really just a different version of the "Would you bring harm upon yourself in order to ensure others aren't harmed?" question. It's basically a question of morality, only with toilet humor involved.

Yes, read. You don't have anything extra that you can use on you, nor is there anything else in the room that is useable. Only those four items. And keep in mind that the subscriber to the magazine *REALLY* loves it. Every bit of it, even the ads. They will notice that a page is missing and they will be crushed by the loss of it.

Most excellent. About time somebody put all that information into one orderly, organized place. The ASM section could use a little expansion, but that's pretty much the only flaw as of right now. Good job.

(by the way, when do you expect the hacks section to be up?)

Sounds interesting. Do you, by any chance, remember anything else about the hack? That might help some more in identifying it.

Very nice. Where in the hell did you get that Green Fields Foreground GFX, though? I recognize the graphics, but I cannot remember where I saw them.

I suppose if someone wanted to make collecting the dragon coins a quest of sorts with a reward in the end...but that still would be easy enough (although more cumbersome) in the SNES version.

Raccoon Leaf is just a result of changing the Cape Feather's code a little so cape flight cannot be done; combined with a graphics hack that gives Mario the Raccoon ears and tail. More powerups might be possible, but it would take a lot of work.

Nice job hiding the link to the data that well.
(In other words, he placed the data where most people would see it, but you kind of buried it down in a hard to see place in a obscure location. But in any case, good job. Both of you.)

If you had your way, Sonic games would be rated AO. So many people have bad memories of the drowning music.

To comment on the latest screenshot, you might want to consider changing the ground to green instead of grey. It just looks wrong to have a place called "green field" where you traverse through rocky terrain.

Actually, I like the old Hot Desert foreground better. The new version...just doesn't fit the mood. The sand looks too solid, and it just doesn't have the same dramatic effect of being close to the end of the game.

As for green fields, it does look a little better. However, the rocks below the ground still make it look strange. Make them more dirt-like, add more variety to the ground (IE: tall grass, foreground rocks), and you'll be all set!

Oh, and Fu isn't registered here. I don't think he likes the internets anymore or something.

Smallhacker's brother provided information. Or I could say D364 is 151544 in Octal, or whatever the hell you call Base 8. There are two 1s, two 4s and two 5s. If we put 212425 into decimal and convert it to hex, we get 33DC9. DC. Washington DC. Smallhacker's brother is working with the governmen*gets shot*

Oh, and about the walls. This is a good...find. If there are no freezing or trapping glitches, this could make for an interesting boss battle. Which is a good thing, considering SMW's bosses are hard to make interesting unless you do something incredibly unusual. This fits right in.

3D isn't always the best option, though. Remember, good graphics don't make a hack. In fact, they're one of the least important things in terms of enjoying playing them (they help, but they can only help so much). No, what seperates the excellent hacks from the good hacks is the environment. Take the Underground Ruins screenshot, for example. The graphics in there are great. "Metal Knuckles" mentioned that the caterpillars are scary. If the 3D-Esque graphics were replaced with simpler, yet demonic-like ones, it would be all the better if the point was to have a frightening mood. That was just an example that is easier to understand. The point is that deserts are supposed to be hot, mysterious places. Just compare the two, not by graphics, but by how they make you feel ("OMG TH0SE GR4PX R GR8!" is not a feeling). To me at least, the old graphics give a more dark and tense feeling. The new ones are just too bright. Besides, graphics will be the last thing on your mind during gameplay in 97% of levels (the other 3% is comprised of levels where you need to pay attention to patterns or something to advance in the level). You'll just look, be mesmerized for a few seconds and begin playing. Not to say graphics are useless, though. It's just that better-looking graphics aren't always the best option.

If you want a better example of mood making a difference in terms of tiles, consider this. A ghost house. This ghost house has many traps with the intent to surprise you in ir. Which would be the better graphics for it? The incredible-looking 3D-esque ruined building tileset? Or a much-less complicated yet suitable 2D tileset that features many evil objects, such as blood-stained spikes, bones, piles of debris and rotting corpses? Exactly.

In short, no. But I did leave near the beginning of a few movies. Then there was that one time at the drive-in theater when I was watching the movie and the gears slipped. My friend and his girl were making out in the backseat. Hilarity ensued that night, and again nine months later. I kid you not, that actually happened.

Have you ever laughed at something inappropriate to laugh at, say, extremely cruel jokes about natural disasters or a horrible real-life experience someone had?

Posted on 01-07-06 07:12 PM, in SMW: Line Platform speed offsets + A "bonus" Link
Could someone please find the address for this? I'd really appriciate it. I intend to make a level that involves very fast line platforms (it's the one after the On/Off Maze that I posted in the Basic SMW Hacking forum, if you care to know). I tried to find ir out myself, but only ended up finding a different offset.

If you care to know, I was screwing around 0xAD78 (probably way off my target) and changed the INYs to DEYs and vice versa. Somehow, I ended up making the stomp graphics off-centered from enemies. I'll post a screenshot in a second...

EDIT: The placement of the stomps seems random at times, but it happens quite often. Try looking around that address. You might be able to trace the location of the "stomping dust" routine

To get to the top right map, you have to beat the Sunken Ghost Ship. Then you'll be in the Valley of Bowser, the top right map. If that's not it, try Cookie Mountain or Butter Bridge 2. And to get to the desert downstairs, you go downstairs. What did you expect, for it to be located on fucking Neptune?

It's possible. Think about it. It's addictive. So are drugs. The method people often use to aquire it is illegal. Same goes for drugs. It can alter your mind. Drugs do, too. Certain types of music can make you feel lightheaded. Drugs can do that as well. Music can make you feel irritated if it is at a certain frequency. Drugs can make you feel irritated you take it frequently. Music played at a certain frequency can break glass. Drugs can cause people who take them to break glass. CDs, which often hold music, can kill people if they are spun around fast enough so that they explode. Things which hold drugs (IE: a beer bottle) can kill people, too. Old people hate new music. Old people hate new drugs. There are five letters in music. There are five letters in drugs.

But this is where things get really scary. If we assign the letters of the alphabet a numeric value, in "A=1, B=2, C=3, etc." terms, MUSIC would be [17 + 21 + 19 + 9 + 3]. This totals to 69. Doing the same for drugs, we get [4 + 18 + 21 + 7 + 19]. This also totals to 69. Now, notice the number. 69. This is a sexual reference. And incidently, both music and drugs have led to people having sex. Coincidence? I think not! It's all a conspiracy! Music is just a "healthy" form of drugs put out in the attempt to make money! RUN FOR THE HILLS!

On an unrelated note (*HINT HINT I AM BEING SARCASTIC*), notice how just about everyone in this topic is saying something along the lines of "I like my music. It has a lot of the same qualities and effects a drug does, but it's not a drug by definition."
