I played some "Tetris on Acid" type game before. It's the same as normal Tetris, only instead of levels, you take different dozes of drugs. I have to find the link to that.

No, you're thinking of something else, Danielle. I once got Rank 2, but I forgot exactly what I did to get there.

Actually, this is very plausable. With a combination of the "only pass if level completed" block, secret exits, and a very small amount of easy extra coding, this is doable RIGHT NOW. The only problem, of course, would be the execution.

How about you just don't use Palette 0 or 1 for the background? It's as easy as that. Of course, there's the repetitiveness of actually changing the Map16 for the background, but that's only a minor issue.

Technically, it isn't flaming if they're stating hard facts. That would be trolling, albeit deserved trolling. But in all due fairness, I seriously doubt that a person of your hacking level would be able to thcurn out something good from the ground down within a single day. Down take it personally, though.

Been wondering how progress was going on this. I see you've been making progress with the alchemist items (or items in particular), from what I know and the information you've provided now. It sounds good, although I have my doubts on the Sonic Special Stage esque setup. I just hope the levels with whatever you plan to have in there won't be ridiculously hard to get through.

So what if the Monty Python foot felt the need to splat itself? How is that physically possible? Would it implode on itself or something?

Yes, but let's be blunt here. People care more about the status bar more than they do some petty other object that you don't even have to use. Don't know why. But at any rate, than can be worked around with ease.

Your problem might be the ol' "IPS file with the same name as your hack in the same directory" problem. Check. If the IPS is there, either delete it or rename it.

You're doing everything perfectly, so it's a technical aspect. You might have a bad and/or mislabled ROM. If that's not the case, then try using ZSNES instead. It doesn't care about checksums.

Well why didn't you say so? All you have to do is open up a hex editor and insert 200 bytes of data into the ROM at the start. It's that easy.

From the palettes menu, of course. One partcular way to get them is the emulator state load method, which loads the palettes from a savestate of an emulator.

Might as well post this. A basic outline of the graphics I'm currently making in my Super Mario World hack. Other ship parts non-existant as of yet and are pending. Layout of level pending. Water nonexistant as of yet and pending. Foreground pending. Background VERY pending.

Funny though, because my main problem with those colors is that it is difficult to tell the difference between certain colors, and some look quite different compared to the original colors.

I'm disappointed. I was hoping the Mario Movie one would be based on, well, the movie.

Super Mario Bros., the movie? That movie sucked. If you were refering to the Mario Movie, it is.

THE RULES: As in, our views of the world, not in typing or technological terms. No side-conversations, especially those with knowledge or insight of events that happen in the future. Ignorance to future events (IE: "NASA is never going to be allowed to launch another shuttle again") is welcome, but be reasonable. Likewise, jokes about being young or non-existant are also welcome, but only in moderation.

Did you guys get that new game The Legend of Zelda? I heard it's awesome!

Well, you should have added hex 00, not hex 30. That should fix everything. As for the Lunar Magic error, if it's an original SMW ROM, then obviously it's just a minor flaw in the program.

ur r t3h idiot b7

Heh. I'm sure there are worse. Truth be told, there isn't really a quick answer for that one. Keep in mind that you have to change the STANDARD palette if you want to change the "presents" logo, not a custom palette. This may or may not affect some enemies or objects, but custom palettes everywhere else should fix all worries. To answer the question itself, you'll have to resort to the use of ASM, which isn't very nice when it comes to beginners. Until then, put it off until you can do so, or find a way around it.
