I'm not protecting the world from devastation. I'm uniting all peoples within our nation...to escape...before we are all consumed by the glitchiness.

Quite cute. You do plan to change the overworld though, right? As for ExGFX, the best one is YY-CHR, but some virus programs don't like it for some reason beyond me. To make a blank ExGFX file, extract the GFX from the ROM when "joined GFX" is NOT checked. Take any one of those files that shows up, create a folder called "ExGraphics", and put said file in. Rename it ExGFX##.bin or ExGFX###.bin. Replace the #s with numbers, but they must be larger than 80. Now, open it in your tile editor and delete the content inside. Then, simply edit away.

Wow, all the people here make me feel so young. Actually, I lurked around the first incarnation of this board for a while, but was intimidated by all the madness going on. Quintuple digit postcounts, romance between board members, and more. So when the board reset for the first time, I thought that would be a good time to join in the community.

Placeholder post in this topic before the O RLY owl shows up.

And just so this post isn't completely contentless...you know, maybe placeholder wasn't such a good word. Maybe I should've said something along the lines of "I beat that owl getting into this topic" or "I am posting in this topic before the O RLY owl gets posted." You know, let's go with the latter of those two.

Given the current events of the board (all those staff members whose names are those of MISSINGNO. incarnations in Pokemon Red and Blue), I think that this one might be a very fitting YTMND.

Nope. That's the only way you're going to get a blank ExGFX file. And don't worry, deleting all the content is as simple as right clicking and holding in YY-CHR on the top left corner, dragging to the bottom right of the tiles while still holding the right mouse button, releasing, and pressing the "delete" key on your keyboard. Once you try it yourself, you'll understand.

A quick pseudo-search (AKA going through all pages of this forum, wielding CTRL+F) yielded this and that topic, both of which you might find interesting. I also remember there was someone in the last board who hacked in new items. One that sticks out in my mind is an item which turned Mario's palette gray, allowed him to avoid enemies, and allowed him to walk on lava. I don't know where that ended up, though.

EDIT: Found something on the old board. Right here.
EDIT 2: Another bit on the old board can be found here.
EDIT 3 and 4: Boom baby! Found the afformented hack. Or at least something close to it Go for it!

That would help a little but most newbies usually don't read the stickies or even know what they are.

We could try giving it a label that all n00bs would click. I mentioned in another topic that they probably wouldn't read it anyhow. The other option is placing the disclaimer at the very top of the forum, with a nice, fancy title to show it off. As for the rest of us...well...this might be a little sneaky, but...we could have an option that opens up in edit profile after you reach X number of posts that hides these disclaimers. Stupid n00bs who don't know how to backtrack (IE: All of them who don't get banned by that point) won't know what hit them.

And by the way, that video is so screwed up that it isn't funny.

Oh and while we're on the subject of seriousness about MISSINGNO, I found this page that explains the advance generation's MISSINGNO variations in a little more detail. Speaking of which, I have one of these things on my Leaf Green game.

Also, see this page on the same site for G/S/C MISSINGNO.

Actually, MISSINGNO. was made in order to stop glitches like that. If you tried to encounter him in the original Japanese Red or Green versions, the game would lock up. So in the Japanese Blue, they created MISSINGNO. However, as we all know, MISSINGNO. wasn't meant to be encountered and is still pretty glitchy itself. But at least it doesn't freeze.

I believe the correct name of the move in question, Ailure, is Hidden Power. Not Hidden Attack. Unless you really meant a hidden attack, such as one of those glitch moves.

And of course it's going to be less laggy on the GBA. The processor is more powerful, so it can perform calculations faster. On a side note, the Super Gameboy runs games at a faster speed than the normal gameboys; although the Gameboy Player runs games at their proper speed.

Yes, but the same thing can be said about...ohh...just about everything else in this world. Such as this forest ripped off that forest which ripped off another forest. Therefore, your logic does not work.

Only some of them don't work. Most of the good ones (Iibbles and Gorilla fortunetly) and a few others such as QB Junk, QBlocks, QB Tetris and Starquest do work.

Well, in that case, why don't you get a FilePlanet account? I don't know, perhaps the message telling you to "log in" to download them is just for show?

Are you sure? If so, you might have went to the website while they were in midst of updating. No harm done though, and you can get it now it you wish.

i find that stupid thing to do...people are not supposed to encounter missingno in the first place and the makers decided to permit people to do so?

You don't understand. Even if they patched the way to find MISSINGNO., if they hadn't made him, the game would still freeze up solid if you were to encounter one. They created him to prevent freezing glitches, and what they introduced was greater pandemonium. Silly, I know. There's a guide on GameFAQs that lists the inner workings of the glitch, though. Check it out if you have the time.

If I remember correctly, yes. Not only that, but it also removes all but one of the instruments. It also makes some other songs do that while in the hall of fame, such as the "follow" song (usually plays when a Tentacruel shows up) and Viridian City. Quite disturbing.

Easy, just go into the Event editor, press PageUp until you reach the very last event, and delete everything. All event tiles are gone. It's as easy as that.
