What if I told you I knew about a page that shows the links in member's profiles and a page that shows the size of all users' signature?
What? I look at Online users a lot.
Although there are quite a number of users in the "forever" section with a small number of posts in there with a high number of characters per post. Perhaps you could create a "forever" mode that only shows users with more than a certain number of characters per post. Anywhere from 50-100 posts should do the trick. I'll probably get fifth again this, perhaps fourth. As forementioned, I had a late start entering the ACS (for the first time) last month, but somehow managed to get 5th. But seeing as how I usually rank "above average" (aka the line between the ones with a low number of posts, see the 18th, 21st and especially the 27th for clear examples), I doubt I'll be able to do little more than get nearer to fourth place.

| You cannot use the editor in Lunar Magic for that. That only changes their appearance in the editor You have to use special tools in order to modify certain aspects of the game. Otherwise, you'll have to edit the offending sprites not to use colors in Palette 7 that change depending on Mario's status. The brown from the shoes, black, and white are all good bets. I predict that Traps isn't going to get first place. No matter how much leeway he is given in his posting, he will always have the disadvantage of going first. That gives Alastor a specific record to shoot for. ![]() |

I was looking forward to this hack. It's great that it was recovered off your hard disk. Hopefully, it'll still be there and intact, and you can continue working on it. ![]() |

| Oak had a Tauros, a Blastoise, a Gyarados, an Exeggutor and an Arcanine when you fought him via cheating device. Oh, and I remember one time where Brock kept on using Full Heal on his Pokemon. He had an unlimited supply of them, and always used them when his Pokemon were affected by a status condition. However, in the remakes, the trainers all use healing items instead of having a specific item (IE: Giovanni using Guard Spec, Koga using X Defend). | |||

These are pretty interesting. It might be worth my time to check these out for a while. I'll see what troubles I can find in the star charge one.
EDIT: It is possible to "overcharge" the meter, for example, in the Yellow Switch Palace. (edited by asdf on 02-01-06 10:39 PM) |

| Here's the complete list.
93, 193, 1F2 = Lemmy 94, D3, 194 = Wendy 95, D5, DF, E2, 195, 1DE = Reznor 96, 196, 1EB = Larry 97, 197, 1F6 = Iggy 98, D9, 198 = Ludwig 99, CC, 199 = Roy 9A, E5, 19A = Morton 9B, 19B, 1C7 = Bowser E4 = Boo Interesting to note that the background that appears when you change the Level Mode of Level DF is (a glitched version of) the blue hills background seen in Level 105. This further pushes the idea that boss battles were originally going to take place on normal levels, in addition to Reznor's appearance in a normal level during the ending and being able to use him in a normal level. All other boss backgrounds are (glitched versions of) the castle background, such as the one seen in Level 07. (edited by asdf on 02-01-06 11:03 PM) (edited by asdf on 02-01-06 11:05 PM) |

| Not bad. The overworld has a few errors, but looks quite impressive even with them. Your levels could use some work judging by the screenshots though. The puzzle hack idea is an interesting one, but fix all those nasty glitches. Downloading it now... | |||

Heh. I recall being deprived of sleep and accidently thinking up a way to use those (in a factory-type level). Of course, the way I wanted to use them was just silly; in a SMW Redux hack, where Vanilla Dome would be a factory world. Come to think of it, the first level of that world wouldn't look half-bad with those MMBN tiles. ![]() |

| You know what I'm talking about. The games based off of TV shows, movies, and other stuff made today just aren't on par with those made many years ago. My opinion is slightly biased, but most people here I presume would agree. Sure, there is the odd good game that fits the above conditions that turns out fine, but...just compare the rest of them to some of the incredible games made many years ago, most notably during the 16-Bit era.
For example, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4, Toy Story, Aladdin (the Genesis version specifically), Ren and Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention, Bart vs the Space Mutants, Virtual Bart, Goldeneye (yes, I know, it's more recent) and even more obscure games such as Lethal Weapon, Scooby Doo Mysteries and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Granted, there are such games that were made during the early console ages that were not that good or sucked horribly (ET), but those that were more than made up for it. Games like that just don't seem to come around that often anymore. What do you think? |

| It isn't all that it's cracked up to be, Cruel Justice. The effect is instantanious and unless there are a lot of them around, it's unlikely that they'll make much of a difference. Granted, it's still a WIP. But if possible Roc, you should make it so that they get stored up, allowing their use by pressing a certain button. | |||

Originally posted by Colin Well, obviously. Be it a guaranteed gold/some other rank *cough* or real life. I noticed that Alastor usually aims to score above the next highest ranking user, as shown by the ACS right now (Alastor 46, Traps 44) as well as countless other times. ![]() |

Originally posted by DahrkDaiz QFT. And am I the only one who found this post ironic? Seeing as how "editor" could also refer to someone who hacks ROMs, and with DahrkDaiz just getting into heavily hacking SMB1...heh. Although I do remember that there are Game Genie codes that could be used to mess up the music, it's unlikely that they'll be of any use. ![]() |

I can understand that. We also know what happens when perfection is demanded. Duke Nukem Forever. And yet, I'm sure you'll agree the deadlines should not be so tight. Granted, there is a "milk it while it's hot" factor involved, but you know what they say. Quality over quantity. Right? ![]() |

| Bubble Gum pudding? Never heard of that before. I've tried Oreo pudding before. If I remember correctly, it was sort of like a cross between a caramel and a vanilla pudding. Or perhaps it was chocolate and vanilla. I know I've tried them before, I know they were pudding swirls with two different flavors, and I know that one of them was vanilla. I forgot what exactly the second type was, though. I suppose it doesn't matter though, as it tasted very good. | |||

Originally posted by Alastor the Stylish Nah, it's probably just your being so used to normal hacks that this seems dull. Hard, yes. Fun and poorly thrown together? Hell, no! This hack is almost completely focused on puzzles, which are fun to figure out (you worried it wastes time that could be spent on the boards?). You just need to sit down, give it some time and use your brain (and reflexes/savestates) a little. Although ideally, he should use an infinite lives patch or something to make it a bit more fair. | Wouldn't that remove the point of the entire game, though? I'll agree that it's a little over the top at times and that there need to at least be midway points and unlimited lives, and although I do agree that it wouldn't hurt to have better graphics, it doesn't make the hack crappy.
Oh, and I like this hack. As I implied before, it's a nice change from that standard shit (GO RIGHT/DOWN/UP WHILE AVOIDING ENEMIES LOL) everyone else seems to put in their hacks. Not that that is a bad thing, but it certainly is a lot more creative in level design than almost anything you'll ever find in the database at the moment. |

Most excellent, both for it not being private and for the release. Now...if only we could find a way to use the alternate tiles for Luigi in a normal SMW ROM while still keeping Mario's tiles for himself. We could essentially make two completely different chracters, given enough time. ![]() |
