And by the way, what someone needs to do is compile a bunch of videos of people solving Rubik's Cubes, speed them up, fuse them together, and put the Benny Hill theme into the video. Now that would be awesome.

Fighting Zombies. Nothing beats wielding an AK-47 while delivering massive headshots to the undead. I'd still need backup, though. Only Vin Diesel can do that alone and win.

Would you rather kill the future supreme dictator of Earth at birth and get executed for doing so, or kill a random person that nobody cares about and get away with it?

Well it sounds almost perfectly like Crobat's cry. Besides, some of the other Pokemon used a similar trick for getting their cry to sound a certain way without having 151 cries for every Pokemon. In my opinion, it is unlikely that it is a coincidence.

Also, M had a distorted Zapdos's cry. Another type of MISSINGNO. that I have never been able to reproduce had an odd-sounding variation of Dragonair's cry as its cry.

I guess what Snow Tomato was trying to say is that that mixture sounds fine, but you don't know how bad it is until you've tried it yourself. I had experience with things like that, and trust me, it is *NOT* what I'd call a pleasent experience in any way shape or form. X_X

Does he really need to use that much, though? Really, you only need one or two squirts of soap to get your hands clean. There is no need to use that much soap, although it's fine to wash as often as he does. Probably a combination of both elements that causes him to burn through soap so fast.

Jesus tapdancing christ! That's crazy! Well, the remapping was doable at any point, but you're the first to my knowledge who did that in order to expand on other sprites. And I've never seen that turning thing done before. A minor detail, but a cool one nonetheless. Excellent work!

Nope. Fortunetly, most of those levels are quite bland. But at any rate, I'd like to see this happen as well. I doubt Fu or his brother would be willing to do it though, I think they've left the internet.

Not really. You released the full version sometime in late 2005. I come in and find a storm of bugs within a few hours. You take the hack down, and ask me to test. I do so and send you all the bugs I find. You make more modifications after that and make testing public, with two versions, one with a SMW overworld and one with a SMB3 overworld. I help test that one, too. After that, it died out for no apparent reason (?), and eventually, you come back with new screenshots, showing off the new graphics.

How could you forget the most obvious one, Poliwag and Ditto? They too, are exactly the same. I believe there was a third one with that same cry, but I forget what it was.

Mario. Luigi is slower than Mario if the SMB2J clause (Luigi jumps higher, but can't stop as quickly) is in place. Also, Mario is player 1. No need to mess around with 2-Player and the Game Over screen. Mario is Missing and Luigi's Mansion aren't what I'd call the best Mario/Luigi games, either.

Goldeen and Caterpie: Caterpie's is a little faster.
Golem and Koffing: Last time I checked (three minutes ago), their cries were so different that I'm confused at what you were thinking.
Paras and Parasect/Mewtwo and Mew: Yes, but the pitch is very different. As you yourself mentioned earlier, it's just a similar pattern for Pokemon along the same evolution line. Mew and Mewtwo are not, but Mewtwo is a clone of Mew. Don't know why Mew's seems like the screwed up one, though.

Not that I know of. Hold on though, I may be able to dig up a technique on how to get the music into your hack without having to base your hack off of Demo World...

EDIT: Found it.

1. Apply the Demo World patch to a ROM.
2. Make a copy of the Demo World ROM.
3. Patch the music patch to the Demo World ROM.
4. Make an IPS, using the original file as the ROM of Demo World without the music, and the ROM of Demo World with the music as the modified file. The resulting IPS patch will be a music-only patch.

gamed00d, you must live in a town with a pretty lousy school then, because mine does have working sinks. However, one problem I do have with school sinks is the "spring taps" that twist backwards and shut off automatically as soon as you take your hand off the knob. Mine doesn't have that type, but some other ones I went to did. Sure, it does prevent vandalism, but it's kinda hard to get your hands properly clean.

Posted on 01-19-06 10:15 PM, in "Hack" - What's in a Name? Link
Some people in this world will start a debate over anything.

I agree that "ROM Hack/ing/er" is a term that has been established. Hack, in this case, is simply another definition for the same word. "Hacking" can refer to modifying game data. It can refer to getting illegal access to something on a network/the internet. It can even refer to cutting something using a repeated slashing motion.

And consider this. What if we somehow managed to make a common, everyday word - say "it" - be officially defined as a slang word for a sexual act? Would that mean people would have to stop using the word "it" in everyday speech?

And what if we did change it to Game Modding? Since 99.9% of all ROM Hacking communities are on message boards, wouldn't that get confused with moderation? If we changed it to editing, couldn't it get confused with the old DOS program, EDIT? And what about "ROM" itself? It means Read Only Memory. Although that can technically apply to what ROMs are, it's almost too technical. Why not change it into something simpler? (and I'm being sarcastic)

So why don't we rename this forum to The Forum Dedicated to the Act of Using Various Different Tools in Order to Change Illegal Copies of Video Games So That Certain Aspects of the Game Such as Levels and Text is Different From What It Originally Was or something?

I've seen an even more screwed up one before, but I forgot the link. It said something about viruses reproducing inside your PC, and it had four images of...green blobs (supposed to be viruses, I presume) having sex. There were no genitalia involved or anything, only thrusting. One of them had the viruses having their eyes bulge out of their eyesockets as they did their dirty deed.

Haha, that's awesome Xkeeper.

Another cool thing you can do is box in the slug, fill his area with water, and put salt all around the outside of the box. He will soak up the water, and in his bounciness, will destroy the walls. The salt will come pouring in. Laugh as he tries to escape the rushing wave of salt, but can't.

But if you can get the stickers thing right, it's better than the prying it apart method. That way, you don't need to use as much force or any special tools. All it takes for the stickers is long enough nails.

You, maybe. Not everyone has a screwdriver on them that often. But there are other tools you can use to get the stickers off. And that still doesn't change the fact that using a screwdriver is more cumbersome that using the stickers.

I already told you that. You simply have to extract the (Ex)GFX and re-insert them. If you kept the option to insert the graphics as 4bpp instead of 3bpp checked in the insert (Ex)GFX box, Lunar Magic will automatically do the conversion. The files themselves are 4bpp right from the start. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANY WARNING BOXES THAT COME UP, JUST REINSERT THE OTHER FILES (GFX or ExGFX) AND IT'LL BE FINE.
