I'm right now making a simfile at this moment. It is the song Destati from the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. I was disappointed to see Dive Into the Heart - Destati on Bemanistyle, but not Destati itself. I figured I should give it a shot.

So far, almost to the part that transitions from 79 to 156 bpm. I had to shorten it a bit to make it not a long song, but it is full of freezes which is how I wanted the song to be like.

Just need some graphics, finish up the rest of the song, tweak it for Standard and Light, and then I can upload it.

I am liking StepMania, though, even with a keyboard. I have to get a converter though to enjoy a few songs that I like (mainly the video game songs such as Tetrix and Chaos Angel).

I think that sums it up...

And StepMania has consumed any free time I have since it is so cool.
...now, I want to play some more.

I have a question:
What program do you use to make your work? I am thinking Photoshop, but I am not sure. Seeing from your comic the blur effects and whatnot...

One of my gripes involve the lava in the background. It could look more like a river without the horizon cutting it off. If you remove the horizon from above the lava and have the lava go into the background, then it could work.

Eh, didn't word it right. Let me get a pic of what I mean...

The attachment will show what I mean. The left on is what you did, the right is what I think would improve it a lot. See how it looks like it goes off as a river instead of a pool of lava? Something like that could really help it in my opinion.

Clockwork JB: Wii allows you to download SNES games on it. And if they did do that, nobody would buy it now as it doesn't have "new" graphics.

As for the name, I bet it was a combination of Wi-Fi and WHEE! Why not "Wii?"
Both fun AND online! Now it needs to be fun online as well...

No pun. It isn't needed.

I await post number 123456789. THAT will be a legendary post.

And the Xbox sounded good?
Its a box... with an X on it. How original.
360? OH WOW! It is a degree measure that also equals 0.

Playstation/Playstation 2/Playstation Portable? It tells you it plays something off the bat. Multiple things. Not original either.

Gamecube. A game in the shape of a cube.

Wii? Holy fuck! What does that have to do with the console!? NOTHING!

We'll have to wait until E3 to see the reasoning behind it though.

Wait, so just because one game isn't on a particular system means that you won't get that system?

Your logic confuses me.

Right now, I think the Wii is better since it is going to have more original games. The 360 consists of games that I pretty much already own, but they enhanced the graphics. The Wii introduces new ways of playing games.

I can't give a final verdict yet until the system comes out, but one thing is for sure: don't judge things by the name or what popular game is out, judge it by what it produces in general that is fun.

Posted on 04-30-06 01:01 AM, in ROM hackers mass interview Link
My name is William, cpubasic13 on any board or site on the Internet that I find interesting. Age 17. I usually stick in the Super Mario World hacking section, although I have managed to try other games from time to time. I am not affiliated with any websites at all.

1.What draws you to the ROM hacking community?
There are many edits that are interesting to play. The fact that other users can make these edits and share them with the community makes me stay. While some may be bad, it is still funny to play them.

2. Do you think playing/modifying hacked ROMs should be more user friendly?
I think that maybe they should stay as they are. Lunar Magic is the most user friendly of them all and results in many... well, bad ROM hacks. While there are some good ones out there, many users treat this as just another editing tool and don't look at the technical aspects of the editing. I like the fact that some things are complex and that you should know what is going on when you change one object in a level. Others don't care, as long as they can make a harder version of the game which turns out dull.

3.What are the advantages/disadvantages of ROM hacking vs. ripped sprites with code written from scratch?
ROM hacking is easier to do things with. The problem is that it is limited in its coding.

4. Do you think there are limits to what people should be allowed to do with their games?
If you can do it, do it. If it deteriorates from the quality of the hack, then of course that it shouldn't be added. However, limiting things is just stupid to begin with...

5.What do you think about the future of the ROM hacking community?
It will obviously lose some of the more experienced ROM hackers, but then there will be others to replace them later on. I think that it will be a lot bigger, though, especially after everything has been deciphered for a certain game.

gtfo fanboy

Seconded.

There are actual facts about the Wii such as game downloading and the controller (plus a few games, if I remember correctly), but as for the E3 shows? THERE HAS ONLY BEEN 1 SO FAR WITH THE REVOLUTION (2 at most)!

Just shut up saying that the Xbox 360 is better. If it is better, DON'T mention it in a Nintendo thread as you Wii-ll (Heh, couldn't resist.) piss off others in this thread.

Anyway, if the price is below $400, I'll be happy. I'll be paying for something I'll play constantly, like DDR. I will probably play the Wii all the time when it comes out. It just seems... cool to do.

The people are morons on there. They don't know good colors both in a hack and in a post. They can't read four words.

Pears suck.

ORANGES ARE THE WAY TO GO!
Really, there isn't anything to hide with oranges. They are orange, and they are called oranges. They can't be in any other color... unless they aren't good, but still.

Which asks the question: "What came first: Orange the color or orange the fruit?"

I can't play piano... well, only the beginning of the Mario theme, but otherwise, I suck at it.

And when I did do that, it was at my brother's fiancee's house, where I was goofing off with the piano to see if I could do it.

The problem I had with the movie was the fact that the voiceovers don't match the mouths at times. In anime, you can barely see it at times, but in a CG movie, it is highly noticable. The thing I also noticed: voices are like in KHII, which was a good thing for me, since I could tell who was who if they were in KHII.

I'll have to sit down and actually... you know, watch it all before I begin to say some bad things about it. I think I'll watch it tomorrow so... I can see how over-/under-hyped it is.

(I am trying out a new way of writing up moves and stuff, so... I may be able to make it to where I want to participate in this battle more... since I want to try and limit my writing a little to where it takes me a few minutes to make a move.
Also, first time using Rixe for a character. I am making his profile right now, so... yeah... anyone welcome.)

Rixe continued reading through his book inside the metal structure that he set up for the night. It was pretty big for a tent, but his intelligence allowed him to come up with this technology.

He closed the book and turned off the light. Rixe walked over to the door and made it ajar just to keep some of the cool air coming in. He walked over to the sleeping bag and tried to fall asleep.
"Tomorrow, pack this 'dome' up and move on to find a new place for a battle arena..." He started to drift away when the door creaked, making him alarmed...

I think it involves putting a firecracker in the tuba or some odd instrument and then lighting it and then blowing into it to make a cannon or something.

I don't know, but I find the episode where they played with the microwave was pretty cool. It was cool to see a CD, aluminum foil, and other things in a microwave. They would have put a poodle in the microwave, but...

And the jawbreaker in the microwave? THAT WAS AWESOME TO SEE IT EXPLODE!
