| I'm still confused about the lottery, but now I'll wait until tomorrow before figuring it out...
Are there going to be awards for winning it at all or is it for when you are bored? Either way, something to give me hope. ![]() |

| Top-down graphics?
Chaos? I can try... After about... a minute or three in Paint without changing palettes I came up with this.
I got the walking down here, but I want to know exactly what you are looking for on the sprites. Here, I just put the hands held out because... well, it would be funny I guess... This is definitely NOT what I want to show as final. I just want to know opinions on what to change (other than colors and such). I could improve shading and such. Right now I gotta go to sleep, but I am looking forward to some constructive criticism. I just don't know exactly what you want... |

| You read the instructions, right?
Did you import the Map16 tiles in a page greater than 10? If not, might want to do that... |

| Ah, that format is quite nice, actually.
For the guns, I assume you will have the projectiles already drawn, correct? So all I have to do is simple draw the characters with the specified weapons. Neat. I'll try once I get offline to see what I can do. This is quite interesting, as well... |

| Quite good work, I guess...
Castelvania and Metroid... something I would never see together, really... one is based on technology, the other magic... This is probably going to turn out great... I hope... |

| So basically making a story of SMW with Final Fantasy ideas is a good thing?
Possible if pulled off well, but would only be good if stuck on Yoshi's Island... Heh... this made me want to do a Soul Calibur meets SMW hack... *makes some character search for the Soul Edge fragments* Hehehehe... On an idea, make a gravity-faking level. For example, have a level that has you on the ground. When you enter a door (have a tube or something connecting to the roof), it takes you to a different level that is the same, but takes place on the roof. No ASM required. |

| Cube.
Now that's a fun game! I like the map editor in it. Couldn't we have this thread be for Freeware Games for all platforms instead of just Linux? I feel that would be better and add to more people wanting to contribute to this thread... |

| William flew backwards seven yards, which still gave him quite a long way from the edges of the arena. Taking in some damage from the explosion and the sliding on the ground, he stood up, scratches all over him, although none of them were threatening.
"Ring out, eh? Soul Calibur style! I like it!" Before doing his move, William flung his hands in the air. Magic encircled the arena. Now, due to the certain circumstances, the compeititors would not recieve as much damage, but the longer the battle the more force each attack would have. The only problem was that the opponent had to confirm this change by pressing "Yes" on a newly spawned console behind him... Where it came from was anyone's guess... same as to why he had to use magic... William spun in a circle as he drew out his boomerang gun. He had it aimed after the spin and held the trigger as energy was being absorbed into the gun. After a second, he let the gun fire. A huge ball of energy shot out in an arc. It traveled towards Grey, but was a foot short. It didn't matter, as on impact it exploded with immense force. Its explosion was a blue, about the same force as the Spiked Shell in Mario Kart: Double Dash. (OOC: I never saw your move this weekend because I just got Soul Calibur III... and then you bring up the Ring Out... Funny.) |

| I am actually quite interested in that SMW hack you have there, Dr. Mario.
If you need some help figuring out how ExGFX work for the FG, you could ask me since I have a firm understanding on how they work... As for the next screen, I like the background and the ground as well. Nice. DD: Mario's overworld wins. The way it is put together is just... great. Dragonsbrethen: Interesting. I like how both of them look. |

But... I call 'em soda otherwise... |

| I laugh at this.
Not because it sucks ('cause it doesn't). It is funny because you are going to be the first to release about 5 or more Demo 1 versions of a hack.
I lost count... Overworld is neat. Levels are nice. The Ghost Ship could have used some other graphics, but I am not pushing you to do so. Can't wait to play Demo 1... |

You just found this game? I heard about this game for a while now from Gamehippo. Didn't download it until just a few weeks ago when I went to my brother's place. Well... lost interest easily. It was ok, but it wasn't something I could get into. ...meh, I'll stick with Generally... |

| If they bring back the Ninja ability, I'll be happy.
Seeing Plasma brings up my hopes. I am sure I could beat this game in one day once it came out, but maybe the difficulty would increase this time... If not, it doesn't matter. I beat KSS in one day and I still play it via emulation... |

| William jumped backwards hoping to dodge the yo-yo. This didn't happen, though. His arms were tangled in the toy's string. Obviously, he was very restricted with what he could do.
What else to do than jump back, use the pull on the yo-you to gain momentum, and project your feet in front of you in an effort to either hurt or trip the enemy? That is what William did... unfortunately... (OOC: Sorry. DDR and MMX Collection distracted me... ) |

| Well, your sprites are nice. Since you haven't done the FG yet, it does clash. Perhaps you could try your hands on the FG sometime?
The sprites are good, though. Don't get me wrong. Just that... they clash with the old SMW stuff. But your work did inspire me to make a new sprite for Mario. Well, it was your Rex that did it... ![]() |
