Posted on 03-20-06 05:57 PM, in How many of the ALA's top 100 most frequently challenged books have YOU read? Link
The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Harry Potter (Series) by J.K. Rowling
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Goosebumps (Series) by R.L. Stine
The Witches by Roald Dahl
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Pigman by Paul Zindel (I own this book but I haven't read it )
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
Where’s Waldo? by Martin Hanford
How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell

All of those are awesome books too. Except maybe Pigman, but I can't pass judgement on it. I also see several of those are sex education books Isn't it a bit obvious the content is going to be disputable...?

I woke up today early (5:30) like I always do on weekdays, only to hear that schools were closed due to a giant snowfall overnight.

So I just had 8 hours added to my time to waste. Hoorah.

If any regular member starts TS 8, I've got 100,000 coins saying that a sneaky admin will cast it into lost threads and make their own.

No doubts.

I'm guessing Alastor, Xkeeper, asdf, Yoshi Dude, Ailure, KATW, Danielle..... uugh, I already lost count. I'm going to have to look.

Alastor - 657
Xkeeper - 143
asdf - 198
Yoshi Dude - 52
Ailure - 178
KATW - 164
Danielle - 293

...

I think Alastor cleaned everyone's clock there. And to think, I've only posted in this topic a mere 59 times
EDIT: now 60

Posted on 03-21-06 09:42 PM, in What's your favorite way of getting "The legendary weapons"? Link
Tales of Phantasia spoilers
Spoiler:
What was weird was, in the Lower tier of the Moria Gallery, the boss was far, far easier than the dungeon, which was difficult to navigate and had the strongest monsters in the game. You were more likely to die from a random encounter then the boss... you got the most powerful balanced weapon in the game at the bottom, but there was a dropped item with a stronger stab, but far weaker slash.

Like anyone would pick a rare drop as their favorite method anyway

14 threads here. I like to make threads but I very unoften have good ideas for them.

Hey, we should also post locked thread to unlocked thread ratio

6 of my 14 topics are locked, which is a 42.8% lock ratio. Note that three of them were in SMW hacking crap, which all got locked regardless of content, and " So I seem to have fallen into Sion's trap.", which could have been left unlocked, but I specifically requesting Hiryuu trash it, so he did.

The two really stupid threads I made were "The bar is back?" which while it got the most replies (81), it was also the least sensical, so it was nuked by KATW, and "Avatar bug", which ended up just being an issue of caches not being cleared.

So if I tweak it around a bit ( ), I could claim to have a 2 of 14 lock ratio, which would translate as a 14.3% lock ratio.

I really love useless statistics.

So... You'll be active right? Not like so many people who come to ask only one question, and vanish. Those are somewhat depressing, as the board could use some new blood.

Why don't you make the title onto layer 1 in the opening level instead of layer 3?

You'd have a whole GFX file's worth of space if you wanted to... It's what I'm planning :\

You get more colors, and more space, and you can have an effect like the original SMB, which I always thought was pretty cool.
