Most of them have encrypted or scrambled codes, though obviously ZSNES has figured them out (check the source code, or docs). They either work by modifying the ROM (since it's between the real cartridge and the system, they can modify what hte ROM bits read as before getting to the system); or by modifying RAM (a constant command to update a certain RAM offset).

If I didn't know any better, I'd say you enjoy doing things like this. Let me guess - this one is based around bytes wasted/total post size? Or what is it?

EDIT: I tested...it is indeed based around that.

Yes, it is, but the "normal" ACS will continue normally.

Peronally I'd ratther base it on some fomula like this and posts too (rewarding lots of content and not just lots of posts), but until I can reliably filter out [quote] it's a little biased against quoters (like me).

And like me. :p Still, it actually sounds smart, but why not have 2 diffrent ACSes? It sounds like a good idea.

I should write more essays....on the board.

You'd probably rather have relative links, so that you can easily move servers, or people save the files to their local disk. <img src="pictures/image1.jpg" />

That doesn't make much sense, since it's essentially exactly the same.

Could've said that from the start. But I think there's not much more to say about the matter. Unless you happen to have your own copy of WinNT, MS Office, and whatever else they want, and install it from scratch.

Any bright admin would just re-image the disk after a user's finished using the thing.

10 Gbps ethernet cards exist, though they're expensive. Not to mention you probably don't have the money to even buy disks that can go so fast, or the routers. Other than that side-note, Sonicandfails got it right.

Because ethernet has been a standard for much, much longer than USB has. Not to mention it was designed for networking. With USB-networking, most of the work has to be done by operating system drivers, causing quite a bit of overhead (to the point it might seem slower than 100Mbps ethernet, with poorly-enough drivers).

They usually re-image the hard disk just like it was when you bought it, erasing all of your settings and files, so back up first.
