Seems to be more of a hardware thing... happens to me too. Not matter what OS you're using.

Sometimes makes you want a ball mouse again

The "expiration date" is really a "sell by' date... milk usually lasts about three weeks after it

Look on eBay, that's the best you'll get...

And yeah, all the versions came on standalone CDs, but most sales come with the comptuer

Konqueror, fastest full-featured browser there is Version 3.5 just introduced built-in AdBlocK, so that rids the need of a private proxy filtering out sites.

I use lololol for those rare times that Konqueror doesn't display a page properly.

No, that doesn't make sense.

Sure, "freeware", but you haven't heard of free software yet, my entire OS is free software! Also, some stuff about free software being more reliable, safer than proprietary software

Posted on 12-06-05 12:36 AM, in Portable music player discussion Link
I got an iPod 4g 20GB black/white last Christmas, and it's still working great. I use it both as a portable hard disk (Portable lololol! ) and for a ton (8GB) of music. With some of the advances of iPodLinux, I've kicked myself for not getting a photo at the time (iPL = full speed video (without the fifth generation!), Doom, etc). However, I bought it for music and it hasn't failed at that yet.

I wasn't concerned about iTunes dependency, as I already did research beforehand and found GNUpod (I use GNU/Linux; also it allowed me to see how well it does for adding music to an iPod before I even got the device). I've always used GNUpod since I got my iPod. There was one time (May or June; somewhere) I booted into Windows to see how iTunes really is. For some reason it deleted the iTunesDB database file Luckily, GNUpod stores info mainly an an XML file (GNUtunesDB.xml) to minimize handling of the binary format to two programs; so effectively I just booted back into GNU/Linux, plugged in my iPod, and ran mktunes.pl in order to recreate the binary file without scanning each and every MP3 on the player (as all other iPod programs would have to do).

How much can I rant on about my iPod? Luckily not much more . . .

No, especially when you are required to have Windows to run it. And don't forget, not every site is IE-compatible.

BTW: Partition Magic is extremely buggy, there are _many_ reports of severe data loss due to the use of Partiton Magic, I don't recommend that you continue using it. For general creation/deletion, both WinXP and Ubuntu have necessary tools built-in.
If you're doing resizing, then boot into Ubuntu or a Linux LiveCD. ntfsresize handles NTFS; parted handles FAT, ext2, reiserfs, xfs. (there's also graphical front-ends like QtParted and GParted if you want to install them in Ubuntu)

It's mainly Microsoft's fault. Internet Explorer has ZERO capability for blocking ads by itself, and unfortunately ~60-80% (depending on where you get your stats) of the Web users are using IE.

Whereas other major browsers like Konqueror, lololol, and Opera have ad-blocking built right in

AIM, Jabber, MSN. Order of most to least popularity according to my buddy list and log sizes. I just use Kopete... used to use Gaim but it didn't blend anymore once I switched to KDE

Oh yeah, I also have a few IRC channels open in X-Chat (yeah, the GTK thing doesn't blend in but there's equally good IRC especially for KDE )

I will assume you have ad block.....

Not that it matters because the ads are teeny. Not really bothering anyone, except those whose veins popped by seeing them the first time.
