I don't have time to screw around in a console, changing every detail and compiling programs if I want to run them. I just want shit that works and does the job; Linux is more about providing junk 'open source' software that no one improves (someone else will, right?)... Windows usually has most software development, software that works, and generally hasn't failed me at all (unless someone else uses it, hah)

Personally, every time I hear someone call Windows some stupid name like that and suggest switching to Linux, I want to punch them. You don't switch to a car with hundreds of buttons that you need to turn and push daily to get it to work, especially if your current no-bullshit car works fine, right?

First off, I'll admit that calling Windows a name is pretty stupid but it really feels that way to me. Secondly, how is this just working? One of the main reasons I stopped using Windows was because I didn't want to work around all the little and big flaws it has.

Plus there's a big difference between Linux distros that just work out of the box for people who are new to the OS or to a computer (Fedora Core, (K)Ubuntu, SuSE) and distros designed for people who like to take control of every little bit of the OS (Gentoo, Slackware). And then there's some distros I have no idea where they stand (Debian, PCLinuxOS)

Also Nintendo didn't put "© 1990,1991 Nintendo" on the game title screen to invite people to pirate it and hack it.

Seriously, the lack of logic in the "pro-locking" arguement ticks me off.

Hmm, seems to work for me. Have you checked your ROM? What Gens version do you have?

Hmm, odd indeed. All those versions seem to work fine for me. Maybe it's something in the Linux port, but I doubt it (actually, emulators tend to lag behind non-DOS/Windows OSes).

damn I hope this isn't too expensive. Hell, I also hope it isn't so cheap I'll regret $100 for a 250GB hard disk.

There's also a GTK+ interface for VBA, but I don't think it includes debugging and cheating functions...

Windows source code was leaked twice... once for WinNT4, then a few months later for Windows 2000. Back in the year 2003.

- "DJ Java Decompiler" used to be a free program, now the dickwad is charging for it.

Rather, complain to the Java authors that they haven't made their program Free Software. However, decompiling bytecode can be fun, I admit. It's pretty surprising how many Flash games have database username/passwords hard coded into the ActionScript... just becuase Macromedia doesn't provide a bytecode decompiler doesn't make it impossible

- America Online sending me those crappy CD's every month...I DONT WANT AOL!!

AOL stopped using CD-Rs shortly after they started. It's all silver-pressed CDs since mid-1999, not appendable at all.

It smells fake to me (email headers are very easily faked, btw). Why would they target a couple of famous ROM hackers of which one is only keeping the actual ROM on the site... in a hidden place at that matter. Why not target the number of sites that host thousands of ROMs publicly and have for a number of years?

There should be a poll on how many people don't buy Mario games based on the fact that good hacks exist. I doubt that many people wouldn't buy the official games.

Have you been properly ejecting the disk for the operating system to finish write operations?

Check the filesystem on it
Windows: chkdsk /f <DriveLetter>:
Unix-like: fsck /dev/<devicename>

See attatched image for a fix. Should work in similar ways for the rest of the browsers support animated images.
