But does that apply to SMAS+SMW?
My guess would be that no one really cared to make codes for the SMAS+SMW cart, but the original non-SMW cart. And if you want codes you'd have to make them yourself. |

Originally posted by BGNG No. The license says that if you redistribute the product to anyone, they must have access to the source code just as easily. So if you sell an operating system for $50 to someone, they must be able to have the source code for no extra charge. There's nothing that says you _must_ release any modifications (you can keep it all to yourself), but if you do, you must not retain the source code or make it more difficult to get the source code. |

Fun, it'll be here in a week. In the mean time, I've been trying to muster up enough NES ROMs to fit the entire thing. So far I have a 9.8MB PocketNES ROM, so I may as well forget about adding extra junk (btw pirating GBA games is for losers)

Yes that is DharkDaiz's pwnage SMB3 hack
I got the thing from kicktrading.ca (it's labelled as 256M, but that's megabits, 32MB is easier to use). It cost me $80 when you add shipping and handling, but otherwise it's pretty good. The cart has a small USB port on top and I guess I'd just need to put stuff onto it. Also, I'm considering using SMSAdvance to play the great Sega games of the day too. | Yes it works on Game Boy Player. Doesn't look the best though... if you have Animal Crossing, they have some NES games in that (There's four games (Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Punch-Out, Ice Climber) that you're not supposed to get in normal game play, you'd need an Action Replay to unlock those (I'm normally against cheating, but you can't obtain them otherwise)), it plays better like that (and you can use the GBA as a controller). Remember PocketNES is optimized for the original GBA and GBA SP; not sure how it turns out on Game Boy Micro, but shouldn't be a problem.

The known versions of SMAS+SMW are as follow:
Pointless information? Perhaps not. Good Tools did not come from God, they were made by a person, and are suspectable to incorrect information. Perhaps one of the "bad" or "over" dumps are actually different versions of the cartridge that are valid. This has happened before.... for example, Bigfoot (U) [b4].nes is not a bad dump at all, but in fact just another version of the game. This is only one known example, and with the number of ROMs out there... there's bound to be more, even in something as common as Super Mario All-Stars. Also I believe that the real Game Genie only patches ROM addresses and not RAM. However, as my assumption of that is based off the way that the NES Game Genie works, it may not be correct. | Also BGNG seems to make the mistake that you have to give out a GPL'd program to anyone who wants it, modified or unmodified. All that the GPL asks for is that if you choose to distribute the program, the source has to be just as readily available (assuming the distribution isn't source-only already).

| There's something about both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs that I don't like about either. Also, Steve Ballmer is just plain evil.
Linus Torvalds.... well he started off Linux (not to be confused with the GNU/Linux operating system) and maintains it still, but his attitudes and software development morals are way out of whack. The only reason Linux is free software was to make it as popular as possible. Richard Stallman has the right ideas often, but sometimes goes to the extremes (he used to be on a crusade on passwords being evil, but now he uses them; and he doesn't have any encrypted DVDs since the use of DeCSS, libdvdcss, and similar is legally questionable in the United States). Eric S. Raymond is usually more down-to-earth than Stallman, but not always (see his articles claiming that Microsoft is the spawn of the devil); also I don't agree with the term "open source". Sure, "open source" is fine and all, but the ease of the words being used for other uses makes it not as great as free software. |

| Also I forgot to say: Yes, it's possible you have an undumped, yet unknown cartridge, though as unlikely as it is (being a Mario cart after all). You'd probably be wasting money on postage to send it to a copier. | |||

| By the way, just about every hack will not work with Super Mario World (U) [!].smc due to some stupid 'header' requirement of LM. | |||

| The only answer you'll hear is GoodNES. Place it in the same directory as your ROMs, then run `goodnes rename' (on the command line). Oh yeah, it requires Windows so either use that OS or Wine (which works fine too) to run it. The known ROMs are put in NESRen, almost all of them are labelled correctly (there's forums on the GoodSite that show that nothing is perfect). Unknown ROMs are left alone in your current directory. | |||

I just got my flash card in the mail yesterday. Take taht Celice, kicktrading only took eight days for me!
So far I've fit PocketNES (added a few that aren't in that old screenshot), SMSAdvance, and the whole SMA series ( yeah I said pirating was for losers, but hell I have all the real carts too so yeah :p; plus the first SMA makes a far better SMB2 game than the original, in my opinion). About 30Mbits (~4MB) left on the cart. yeah. |

| The original SMB3 had several places in all worlds with unnecessary-to-beat levels. World 1-3 and 1-4 come to mind particularly, you can skip both and go onto the Fortress then 1-5. |
