So this is just a title screen and pallette hack for Pac-Man?

You could always change the map. That would be more impressive.

I see. Well you should at least change the sprites to look better while you're at it. Otherwise, I don't see the point in playing it. But sometimes it's good to make small, pointless hacks to keep yourself in practise. God knows that I've made too many of those.

Umm.... I don't believe that "word driver" is accurate computer jargon.

Oops. Sorry I misread that. I saw "word driver" in the sentence "seriously, i think when i first said the word driver" and thought you meant M$ word driver, which kind of made my eyebrow rise on it's own. Nevermind. It's just my lack of sleep making me look stupid.

Why not do this: Set up a boss key switch. Have Linux and use it. Then when your boss comes over, hit a series of keys to put QEMU in fullscreen. Your boss will see you using his precious Windows and then when he walks away, you can minimize it again and continue using something good.

Try one of the Linux on ipod projects. It might work. It might not. If it works, then you have a working ipod. If it doesn't, then you still have a paperweight. You have nothing to lose, you know?

Dreamweaver... ew... I use Quanta for all my HTML editing, but I don't think there's a Windows version. And for fixing problems, I find that Dillo's HTML bug thing works REALLY well in finding errors and flaws.

FreeDOS: Well I've had a few things stop working in Windows and work in Linux.
neotransotaku: It might. It might not. Even if Ubuntu has automount for USB drives, doesnt mean it's actually going to work. In my experiance, Ubuntu has to be reconfigured... a lot. Anyways: here's a link: http://ipodlinux.org/Main_Page

You know how in Linux you can select something and paste it using the middle mouse button? Well how do I enable that in Windows? There are some things that I just need to do in Windows and every time I use it, that always screws me up.

I think TweakUI (old Windows control panel applet... not sure if it's still around) had an option for enabling X11-style focus tracking (like most (if not, all) X11 windowmanagers.)

I downloaded it and it doesn't have the copy and paste things. Just that focus thing, which I always turn off when I'm in Linux anyways. It has some other interesting settings though. It's a not bad find.

What about the thing where things that I select get automatically copied to the clipboard?

It's pretty cool. I love the way the way the map looks, but it's not too practical for match purposes.

Well, if ou decided to try autohotkey, you might want to try their forums, becuse I checked the basic documentation, and I couldn't see any way of executing an auto-copy like that.

I'm glad ubuntu or windows doesn't do that on default, that would drive me nuts.

Ubuntu DOES do that on default. Select something and hit your middle mouse button somewhere. If it doesn't work, it means that you don't have your middle mouse button properly configured.

Posted on 08-09-06 09:31 PM, in Does anyone want to help with a FreeCraft modding project I'm working on? Link
It's a modification based off of Kingdom Of Loathing. I basically need graphic artists (You don't have to be great. If you play KoL, you'll know what I'm talking about.), sounds, voices, and music. The graphic artists aren't terribly needed, since I've been doing that myself, but more help with that is appreciated. The project is caleld WarKoL and again: Any and all help is appreciated. As well, we will probably need someone who is much more advanced than I am to mod in bnetd (free open-source battle.net type thing based on battle.net) so that people will have a way of killing real people on this, but that probably won't be needed for a while.

I quite like the idea of posting videos of levels. I think a healthy combination of screenshots and a few videos would brilliantly display what the hack has to offer.

About the hack: Pretty much like everyone else said: The levels were a little bland, plus the hills is a little star crazy. One star somewhere in the middle is fine, but two with one at the beginning and another at the middle in such a short level is sort of easy. Especially when there aren't very many threatening enemies in the level in the first place.

Anyways: Good job on making videos. I hope other rom hackers do the same.
