I've always liked rom hacking. I don't do it very often, but it still is a rewarding hobby, even with the shroud of anonymity covering it. I've made a couple of unfinished rom hacks including Nebio, L337 7r1663r (never again), and Super Mario Bros 4. I'm sure eventually I'll start work on them again. In the meantime, I love to use what little knowledge of rom hacking I have (I admit I'm still not that great) and use that help people just starting off (That's if they can produce a legible post.) Anyways: I hope to be accepted into the rom hacking community and I promise to behave.

Posted on 08-16-06 07:01 PM, in Black & White 2... *sigh* memory leak. Link
So I was playing the 1.0 version of the game and then it suddenly crashed due to a shortage of memory (I have 1GB). So, angrily, I patched the thing to 1.2 (appearantly the latest one) and the fixes said that it's SUPPOSED to fix it. It crashed again today... for the same reason. Does anyone know how to fix this memory leak?

I'm surprised anyone remembers my hair was pink... >> Anyways: Thanks for the warm happy birthday! ^^ I basically spent the day with my girlfriend. It was pretty fun. We went shopping for video games and got the following: DBZ: Budokai 2, We Katamari, and Zelda: Four Swords! ^^ Then we had home made bacon double cheeseburgers! So it's been a pretty kick-ass birthday! ^^

I'm just happy that now I can get a credit card, change things on my bank account without them demanding my parents, and be tried as an adult! ^^ Yay!

So now that this game is out, what do you all think of it? Is it worth bothering about?

"HORSE the band" is a band that sounds similar to Death By Stereo with an NES and SNES backing. I've been listening to it a bit lately and I've been enjoying them. Some good songs by them are Bunnies, Birdo, The Black Hole, and Cutsman. I recommend giving them a try if you don't mind very screamy music.

Frankly, and sadly, I have not found a text editor that even comes close to how awesome TextPad is... >> And Kororaa is almost as easy to install as Ubuntu, but instead of being Debian based, it's Gentoo based, so you get those cool perks like compiling the system for your architecture.

The suit is supposed to be some sort of merge between a chinese suit and a german military suit.

As for the dye: I don't remember what kind I've used. It wasn't very good, though because it doesn't last very long. Usually, I use Punky Color, which lasts about a month, but that lasted about a week before going almost completely Super Saiyan yellow with a hint of lime.

And my Grandpa is awesome. He has a Harley.

And I dyed my hair green for grad because it's fun. The guy in front of me had a foot and a half tall (literally) mohawk! It was pretty cool.

Yeah, some dyes are better than others. When I went bright red I had to dye it twice to get it right, it came out a really cool looking shade of pink the first time. However, although it eventually faded a bit, the color lasted until I grew the hair out and cut it off. When I did blue highlights I had to redo them every week or so.

I think we all remember when I was pink! ^^

I usually do one or two depending on how dark the color I want to use is. The dark blue I had before, I only had to bleach once, but that green, I bleached twice. It also depends on what color your natural hair color is.

It really doesn't matter WHAT your favourite color is. Chances are, my hair has been that color. Here they are in order:

Brown (Natural), Red, Blonde, Orange, Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Black

I am using Gentoo Linux and am having no sound in KiGB. I REALLY want to get sound working on this, since it is the best Linux GB emulator that I've seen. It has the Super Nintendo backgrounds, full screen, recognises my USB gamepad... It just doesn't have sound and the sound has been greyed out. Does anyone know what's up with that?

I'm sorry, but ePSXe 1.6.0 doesn't work with Chrono Cross. It just isn't going to happen unless they fix it. Go back to the one before it. That should work. If it doesn't, go back another one. One of the versions works with it.

Posted on 09-14-06 04:47 PM, in So I applied for a job at Wal-Mart. Link
So I walk in to Wal-Mart and go to the back to the Lay-Away counter like I was told to and find a bunch of other people there waiting with resume's in hand as well. They were all cruffy, poorly dressed, all looked like they just came out of some loser high-school. I just came out of a loser high-school, but at least I didn't look the part. Eventually, we were all called in. That's right: All. All approximately ten of us. See: Normally when I go to a job interview, they make individual appointments for everyone so that every hour or half an hour people come. It makes you feel like they're actually setting aside time for you. But not here. They just want to get the whole thing done and over with. We were all taken to a back room where we were told how great it is to work at Wal-Mart. Then to counterbalance that, they made us do some sort of Wal-Mart cheer. Appearantly everyone does this and they made us do this to give us the impression that if they were making us do something so stupid that we MUST have the jobs already. It went something like "Gimme a W! Gimme an A! Gimme an L! Gimme a SQUIGGLY!" at which point everyone would shake their asses. We went through all the other letters in that fashion. Then: "What does that spell? WAL-MART! Who's number one? CUSTOMER ALWAYS!" Then there some bit on how Wal-Mart number 3683 was better than every other Wal-Mart... or something. We filled out some form and were led back to the Lay-Away room again to wait for a real interview. A middle aged woman brought be to the back where some random crap was being held. A clarinet. Some Pirates of the Carribian MegaBlocks thing or something. And it was small and cramped as hell... >> She asked me a couple of the usual questions and then looked at the form I completed. Then she somehow managed to shove her 40 year old Wal-Mart dick up into my upper intestines. I didn't have two references. Me, never having a job and really never getting to know any of my teachers doesn't HAVE two references. So she told me politely to get lost and next time to bring two references. It was politely because you can't have a good bowel-fuck without lubricant... >>

I'm never applying there again.

I just got out of high school and I'm not really that good for much at the moment. At least: I don't have little pieces of paper signed by some guy that I never met stating that I have the skills that I have. I'm sort of screwed.
