I posted here as a regular in maybe 2002 under the alias "Vincent," and I think I changed it later on. I don't remember what information I used for my account (nor whether it even still exists), so I made a new one. If my old one can be reinstated/brought back to me, that'd sure be nice.
I think I've matured a lot over the years; I've had a girlfriend for about ten months now and I'm about to graduate high school. I can finally grow facial hair and I have a job at... McDonald's. I am trying to find somethin' better though. I doubt I'll post any more tonight... not that matters. Maybe a few posts but I have school tomorrow! EDIT: Hmm, the board just started again somewhat recently it seems. I guess I came at a good time. (edited by Soete on 04-19-06 10:34 PM) |

Song: "Black Vomit" (played at .4848~ the normal speed)
Band: Wolf Eyes Album: Burned Mind This is their latest "big" release, actually staying in print (sans the vinyl, which this is). I think it's their fourth official album. They're an experimental electronic group but with the aide of Aaron Dilloway on this release, they tear things up in an atmosphere that sounds more like noise than anything they've done. Sure, it has rhythm but it's all very abrasive, confrontational stuff and isn't for the faint (feint?) of heart. Considering this is playing on the portable record player I have (not the big, decent-fi one) and it's playing at .484848~ of the normal speed -- 16 rpm instead of 33 -- it even sounds more like a recording straight from Hell. I love it. The first 4 minutes or so is a repeating drum part that sounds like thunder. After that, Aaron Dilloway's throaty voice comes in as the feedback and screeching comes in behind him. It lasts until about 8 minutes in when a climax comes in. It's really hard to explain; you'd have to hear it. Do so, I suppose. "This makes me want to kill myself." ~ Sam Ubl of Pitchfork Media |

The new song doesn't impress me.... but then I've only heard a snippet of it. I loved By the Way, Californication and almost everything they did before then but I'm scared that they've turned the screw too far into pop music, reaching the level of "suck".

I'll probably be active... I'm just busy sometimes.
And.. uh... I don't remember who Trapster is. Damn you, name changes! Though... I have no room to talk. |

As much as I hate to just disregard this stuff about Occem's Razor and whatnot... I have no idea what any of that is about.
I agree with the topic creator. What someone has between their legs has no meaning to me; it's what they have in their minds that gets me. I find myself attracted to people of both sexes because of that. |

Originally posted by acillatem98 My name's actually Derek. I went by that name because I was on a big FFVII pull at the time. I think I was in... 7th grade...(?) when I first made the account and now I'm a senior, so... maybe it's been five years. But then I utilized the account until I think freshman year, so... yeah. Chris: I don't remember who you are if you're hinting at that. I think I can grab at a few of the veterans here but everyone seems to have had their names changed so it's a bit hard. |

I abhor the fact that my mother and step-dad both smoke but I tried it once or twice. It's not my thing at all. Now I can't even stand being around them because they're always puffing.

It's as if the last two posters are ignoring what the topic creator said.
But then, it is possible that what I feel isn't attraction but something very similar. |

My girlfriend doesn't mind queefs. She just figures, you know... it sounds like a fart, but... so what? It's not unnatural. Clarification: Neither of us have had sex but certain other activities cause them. |

Originally posted by Anya The last time I checked you worked at Wolfgang Puck. Sounds like quite a career change you've got there. I remember every day in elementary school they had a raffle to give away a free book. I won that... maybe once. I never won too much of anything unless you count things like ordering a record and getting a more rare version of it (getting 1 of 100 green vinyl out of the 500 total pressed, etc.). Music has been a large part of my life for about half of it's existence (existance?) so I should have a decent amount to contribute to this topic. However, as far as music and moods are concerned, everything's been said (angry music amplifies pissed-off moods, et al). I believe it goes somewhat deeper than that though.
I think that over time the music that you listen to dictates what kind of person you are. For example, I used to be way into Tool's music and I think that much of my smart-ass attitude came from that experience. Even though I didn't really get to be a big "wise guy" until quite a bit later on I can't help but think that this came from that time in some subconscious way. Combined with listening to Big Black, Wolf Eyes and other "careless"/generally "fuck all" bands, I think my mindset has changed in recent times. It's sort of hard to explain. Another example: Lots of chicks these days listen to pop music which generally focuses on the topics of falling in love, breaking up and repeating the process. This, I bet, influences their decisions to step "onto the market" at a younger age, and makes them more liable to get pissed over small-time break-ups. Stepping back a little bit... When I'm doing homework or whatever I usually listen to something droney, no matter how quiet or loud it is. The repetition usually keeps me focused on what I need to be doing. When I have friends over I'll usually play something "out there" to see if I can broaden anyone's horizons but it never usually works. Otherwise I just play some old favorites at a soft volume. When I sleep, I listen to something I know and love so that I'm not trying to remember something new and keeping myself awake. It's usually slow stuff (Sunn o))), Jane, Growing, etc.). Yeah. Hmm, yeah. |
