Hey board,
I'm Nic, or The Nic.
I've been "part" of this board for about five years now. I used to operate under the name "Nic" about two or three years ago and had 600 or so posts, so I was a pretty active member. Those from that era most likely don't remember me, as I had nothing real amazing to contribute to the community. Anyway, I hope you guys will RE-accept me after my little vacation.

Excellent contribution.

Yeah...I did it once...

and paid for it two days later. It itched like hell and I was at work. I manage a movie theater and at an interview with a new employee...it struck. I couldn't do anything and my desk is adjacent to the interviewee's chair, rather than opposite it, so I couldn't hide my fidgeting and scratching under my desk...so I had to hold it in.
Needless to say, it was a very long half hour.

There's three things that I can't get enough of:
Clawing my back. Not like insane "make me bleed", but leave a mark.
Wrapping their legs around me. I don't like it when the girl just puts her knees in the air and puts her feet down.
Moaning/Loudness. Be vocal, let me know you're enjoying it. Don't fake it though...not that you have any need to...lol

Also, I manage a theater, and there is something mildly erotic about my female employees "staying late to help me with the paperwork"...it's only happened twice, but still. I can't hardly ASK my employees. It sort of just has to happen, cuz I could get in a LOT of trouble for sexual harrassment otherwise. Gotta be careful. I knew both of these girls for a long time before working with them, so I think we're good.
And before you think I'm some sick old man who has sex with minors, I'm only 19 (yes, most people freak at the idea of a theater being run by such a young person) and I am only allowed to hire people 18 or older. Problem solved.

Kent C. Koopa from Paper Mario. Definately the coolest. Ugly as hell, but definately cool.
This guy has his "How to beat Kent C. Koopa" at gamefaqs.com

I've been involved with many wierd calls. Only, I'm usually on the other end, making the call. I borrowed my friends cheap-shit Walmart voice changer and talked to this wierd guy from high school for like three straight hours. It was amazing that this guy didnt give up. About 6 other people were gathgered around me and the speak phone listening to me mess with this guy....yeah...I'm going to hell.

I've also made numerous calls from my business phone (I'm a manager, so nobody can tell me not too) saying that they owe us money in some form, or things like that. Good fun.

Yes, movie theater's are usually crap pay for staff, but it's enjoyable (for the most part) and overall a good job. I G.M. our town's only theater here and, yes, we pay employees absolute crap, but they all love their jobs (or maybe they just love their manager ) . Plus, Ice Age 2 doesn't release until tomorrow and I just got through watching it...

Sky, learning guitar will start off being one of the most frustrating things you will ever try to do. Whatever you do, though, don't give up. It will all come together in time. There will be a point when you think you absolutely CAN NOT do it, but if you can get through that, it's pretty smooth sailing for the next few years, until your ready to learn pinch harmonics and taps and improv and crap that I'm just now mastering.
I speak so passionately about it because learning to play is something that has truly changed my life in a lot of different ways that I won't really explain much right now. But, trust me, it will be one of the most rewarding things you will do for yourself.

And Cumu. Virvel, GO FOR IT! There's no reason not to.

As for learning, if you're into more of a classical or a country or a jazz, it would be best to learn first-position chord progressions and positions and things like that.
If you're more into rock, I suggest learning single-note rythms and drop-D power chords, although if you dwell on this too long, you're chord playing abilities might drag a little bit.

I suggest Cyberfret.com like Matt suggested or TheoryLessons.com
I think Cyberfret is more in-depth, but Theory Lessons is easier to understand.

Keep us updated on how that's going for you.

I don't know if that was aimed at me or not, but again I want to clarify that, no, it's not HARD, but it can GET frustrating for the AVERAGE person. It's not hard, but at at times you might think so, and like mattp said, SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW it down. New players tend to immediately pick up a guitar and wanna play Hendrix right away and get dissapointed when they can't, put the guitar down and never play again. Step by step.

Titanic was awful, i thought.

Also, The Grudge made me laugh more than anything. I don't know why everybody I know though that it was the "greatest horror film ever".

Depends on your playing style I guess. We would start up a whole new conversation about what's harder than what or what takes longer to master. I've seen guys who can improv the most kick-ass solo ever for as long as they want, but then you ask them to play a G-Chord and they stop and re-position their fingers one-by-one. It's amusing, especially when they are showing off their skill and then I get to be the asshole who yells out "Show us a simple A minor chord!!". Fun stuff.

How was I in any way bitter? I didn't say anything about you or your versatility. In fact, I didn't say anything about either of those things. The fact that you can do both of those things is great...nay, awesome, but it has nothing to do with what I said.
It's all good though.
Check out some of those guitar player message boards, some of those guys are hilarious the way the constantly cut each other down. It's good stuff.
