| I'm sorry, what have I missed now? Also, why do I seem to have posts in restricted forums? And what's with all the hex? You people confuse me...
Ah, so Big Topics has been sealed because of Lakithunder, I presume...but what else did I miss? (edited by xpCynic on 11-16-06 07:34 PM) |

| Hark! Who is that, rampaging through the steppes! It is XpCynic, hands clutching a bladed baseball bat! He cries apocalyptically:
"I'm going to cram objects into you from every conceivable angle!!" You know, I should use that one sometime. |

| Wow, I didn't know this at all. I knew it was in Mario Paint...but wow. And I've got SML2 and LOZ Link's Awakening, I should go look at these. And he says Totaka worked on Luigi's Mansion, maybe I could hunt around and see if I find anything.
By the way, about that part where he enters his name in the Japanese LOZ game...there's something similar in the American version. You just enter ZELDA for your name, all caps, but it doesn't play the same song. |

I tried it in VMWare too (SP1 just for fun) and it gave me some popups and gave a link to some survey. Strangely enough there's a timer that says a special offer is about to expire, but when it hits 0 the site just reloads. Cheap advertising tactic I guess...
Next I'm gonna see if archive.org has the old computer-killing version of the site...muahahaha. Edit: Well, I tried it, and it still isn't much. Most of the time it would just link to SpyBouncer or some other bogus antispyware, or it would have an under construction page. It gave me a few more popups though, each time there would be this weird one with an IP address instead of a URL. Nothing particularly dangerous-looking, so they definitely over-exaggerated a little. | So basically, someone beats one of these objectives then passes their save on to the next...kind of like those "psspsspsst...pass it on" type games.
I'll join. I'd like to do either the Koga/Safari Zone or the Sabrina/Cinnibar part. I don't like the caves or the power plant. |

| I might do some Googling around later and see if I can help solve the mystery of the missing SM64 hacker...BUT...I do recall him saying at some point that he'd release the source code of the editor if he lost interest, which may be what happened. After all, we all lose interest in things, don't we? | |||

-Clothes (pretty much obligatory) -Best Buy gift card -A watch with a little calendar built-in -Some books -Sims 2 Open for Business -Plenty of Christmas money -A case for a DS lite (I have a larger DS, oh well) -Stocking candy Not too bad of a Christmas, even without a Wii or Xbox 360 or what-have-you. |

Actually I'm in the US eastern timezone so I'm around 14 hours late saying this. Whatever, hope everyone has a good year and all that. |

| So I hear Apple's coming out with the iPod Pico, which is about 1cm x 1cm x 4mm and can hold up to 100GB of data. I'm not getting one - heck, I'll lose it the moment I take it out of the box - although it would be cool to use it to store my vintage DVDs and MP3s. Actually I bet they've implemented that new ultra-DRM so I might not even be able to get them on it.
In unrelated news, was anyone else on last night when VL-Tone posted for the first time in over 11 years? He said something about testing the world's first suspended-animation machine. Too bad Nintendo's already released all its N64 games to the general public since they're so old basically all of them could fit on a single Xbox 4D Disk! |

| Wow, pretty impressive! There's a LOT of text in Animal Crossing/Doubutsu no Mori, so good luck with this. I have the Gamecube version so if you want any help translating the Rover stuff or character names I could help.
It turns out that the N64 version is almost exactly the same as the Cube one, with the only differences being text, the Nintendo logo on bootup, a handful of images and some missing stuff - no museum, no Able Sisters, no dock, no eReader or GBA stuff and dressers can only hold one thing at a time. I've been trying to play the game a little and it's not too easy getting around. If you finish this, I will WORSHIP you. |

| Why does everyone keep saying Tubular was so hard? I still think Outrageous was way harder. As for secret exits, I still can't remember how I found the one that led to the Valley Fortress. Dang, what level was that? My memory's foggy... | |||

| I've started *trying* to help by typing out text from the GC version and putting it into sections. So far I've gotten most of Nook's shop, the post office, the police station, the wishing well, the gyroid in front of your house, K.K.'s Saturday night stuff, and a small amount of the saving/loading screens. Luckily the museum isn't in Doubutsu no Mori so I don't have to worry about Blathers and his big mouth. I also noticed that the menus Nook and the gyroid give you have less in them - you can't use item codes or put designs on your front door. I'm still not too good with a hex editor but I'll start figuring out where all the Japanese text is next. | |||

| Well, you ARE doing a pretty darn good job I guess...
An opinion? Well, good job changing him, but the colors are a little off. I'm pretty sure there are two values for colors: one for color and one for shadow, and it looks like you made them both the same for his shirt, which makes him look flat. Also, his overalls are a little on the purple side. But you did say you messed with the colors forever, so congratulations getting him pretty close. Better than I could do... Also, the completely black ground looks really out-of-place and makes the ground hard to see - maybe you should make it dark gray instead? |

Originally posted by AlexAR I get that too, and menus take a few moments to load. The best I've gotten was using Rice's plugin: framebuffer to fix the big box (a little) and some setting I can't remember to get rid of the pause but cause a big smear as a side effect. It looks like the only way to make it look completely normal is completely emulating framebuffer, but that crashes PJ64 for me so you might just have to deal with it... Otherwise, great work Lysol. It was so cool seeing all the stuff in English, and I'm glad you're going to try and get everything translated
Edit: Happy birthday to me... (edited by xpCynic on 01-30-07 07:19 PM) |

| "Is this an X-rated game?" That was classic!
Great video! I liked the part where he was being chased around at the end. |
