I used to.

I smoked for quite some time before I desided I wanted to quit.

Yeah, it was a nasty habit. I liked it though. Expecially my brand of cigs. Djarum Blacks. But I was smoking them back before they became uber popular because that one girl from the 'Real World' smoked them. You know... the one that cut herself.

Anyways... It was really hard to quite when I was going to school (that's college, not high school. Never smoked in high school). Because the class would be sitting down for a few hours then suddenly you have ten minutes to go and do crap before you're in the studio (broadcasting school) working on your demo or project. Practically everybody got up to go outside and smoke. Some 95% of the school. It was astounding. I am saying this now... Pretty much everybody smokes in the broadcasting field. All those DJ's you hear on the radio, the producers, the news person on TV, the directors... everybody. There are only a few people that I have met in the broadcasting field who do not smoke.

So when you would sit there bored as hell alone in the studio, trying not to smoke... kind of got to you. Hell, my friend who went to the school with me started smoking after joining. I saw a few people like that. It is like there is nothing else to do in broadcasting than to do your spot, drink coffee, and smoke a cigarette.

I am done with all that now though... at least the smoking part.

Ummm...

You know ibuprofen is not a pain killer right?

It is an anti-inflamatory. It hightens blood flow, and in some cases thins it out. You take it for swelling, or sometimes for headaches because sometimes headaches can be caused by too much/too little blood flow to the brain.

As far as it being a pain killer... not really effecient. However, if you have and open/healling wound, something like say... holes in your gums from having your wisdom teeth pulled, you do not want to take ibuprofen. It could cause the blood to thin out and not heal properly. Nor would you want to have any alcohol (ethinol more precisly, the kind that you drink) for any pain because that does thin the blood. And don't use straws... causes pressure in your mouth and could open those suckers right back up.

Enough of my lecturing... sorry about that.

Well... I hope you feel better. Get some rest and such... and please, have some pudding for me

I saw the import/subbed version...

Even though I agree with Sky, that it was visually pleasing yet the story itself seemed strained, I still want my own copy. I am a big fan of FFVII... I am not one of those fanboys that says:
"OMG FFVII is like... thee best games ever!!1!1"

or

"FFVII is the best final fantacy every made... all otheres sucks a$$!!1!1"

No... I prefer to use proper english and just say that I like it, it is one of my favorite games. So I would like my own copy of the sequel that I have waited for for almost a decade.

I am pretty much going to have to go with Colin on this one. One exception... I think that it will be Colorodo in the 7th, not Dallas in the 6th.

Too bad I have to work on most of the nights that the games are on... I was so looking forward to watching Detroit win...

Sorry guys, gotta root for my home team.

Hmmm...

From D to D... Saw it comeing. Hell, it was in the previews. My buddy was trying to tell me it wasn't, that is untill I picked up one of my old vhs's, popped it in, and watched as he was on the wrong end of an "I told you so" moment.

For me... I have to say the very end of Unbreakable... When you find out Elijah is a "supervillin". I saw the hero thing coming. But the villan, completly off guard. Expecially for me being as big a movie geek as I am.

I am going to have to agree with Setz...

I am not saying that the movie was bad or anything, it was just a big disapointment... Pretty much anything that was funny was in the previews.

I saw it last night... I have to say that it is a decent movie.

It is kind of like... a new Silent Hill story. It doesn't follow any of the games in particular... It just borrows specific ellements from them, mainly, the first game.

Best part of the movie was when she woke up in the bowling ally and "Ring of Fire" is playing in the background. I have been a Jonny Cash fan (even before that movie), and when I heard the song, my friend and I started singing it in the theater.

Edit: Alot of people really didn't get the ending though. So watch out if you miss the obvious.

It's a quarter till 2 in the morning...

Red Wings and Oilers are going into 2nd overtime...

The freaking goalie bumped the net and lifted it. At first it looked like the Wings had a goal but you saw in the replay that it went underneith... because the goalie bumped it... Talk about a heart dropping moment.

Edit: Wings lost in 2nd overtime... Manny got caught offguard after a beautiful backhand save.

I have a sneeking suspision that this thread is probably going to be bumped over to Modern Art...

But I wanted to post it here because I figured it would catch more people's eyes.

Basicly, PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. The web site is postsecret.com (go figure)

I would like to hear what people think of it... good, bad, whatever.

I'm sorry acillatem, I gotta disagree with you there. From what I see, we (Detroit) haven't been nearly as agressive as we should/could/ and have been. I see alot of falling back into our own zone. Expecially in that game. Take the puck out of our zone. Just drive it to the Oilers zone, work on getting over there instead of comeing back into ours. And they really need to stick it to the Oilers when they have the power play. I see the wings trying to set up a play... but that is all... alot of 'passing'. Take it to the goal, take what you can, get the rebound (that is, if there is one).

Sooo...

Anybody see the BS Oiler win? Given, the last goal was legit... but the tieing goal before that. The one that was kicked in from the glove.

Now... before I get flamed to hell and back, let me say that I am a fair guy. I am honest. I am a very good sportsmen. I take my losses when I get them because I learn from them. I could care less if my home team did lose because I like just watching the game.

However, that was a shoddy call. It was a hard one, given, but a bad one. The wistle should have been blown at the high sticking... that's not so bad though. Stuff gets missed and there is no penalty... it's saved our team once or twice before.

When the goalie had the puck in his glove... the wistle should have been blown. I can see how they didn't because everyone was infront of the goal, but you saw he had it though. But when, on a video review that shouldn't have even taken place, you see the player pull back his foot and kick the glove...

I'll just stop there. I'm not bummed about losing, keep that in mind, just losing on an obvious call like that.
