| Try this:
If you can find out where in VRAM the Layer 3 tilemap is stored, (try using the search feature in a hex editor on a ZNES savestate), find where in the tilemap the message box text is, then search for that string in the SMW ROM. with any luck, the data for the messages is stored in 2-byte format, and not just the low byte. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I can't help you over the internet, you'd need to send your hack to me. |

| SMO, all the way. It beats out every other hack demo alive for the SNES. | |||

Originally posted by Xeruss Yes, but you'll only see a difference if you had a huge ton of blocks already in your hack. If you barely use any, then perhaps it's really not the best Idea, unfortunately, since the ASM for checking the blocks is a lot more than LDA, CMP, BEQ and the like. Originally posted by Xeruss For sure! quote=Xeruss]all over easier Not really... If you want any of the originalblocks, you'd have to convert them for use with this new ASM, at least for it's version 1. quote=Xeruss]Oh, and Dan you may as well release your re-write of blocktool, it's not very much help to the rest of the hacking community while it's on your computer. I second that motion. |

| OK... I've at least added in a filter that can disable selected inputs from the regular controller ins, but it has no effect on overridden data.
Anyways, once I find some empty RAM, I can finish up the first version of the code, at least. |

| Grey: Reploids are the robots in the "X" series that can think for themselves... X, Sigma, Zero, and the other robots like them are reploids.
Mechaniloids are the regular enemies: They don't think, they just do. |

| My trick (whenwe get the rare snowing) is to quickly grab a fistful of snow, squeeze, and fire. I can fire about on snowball every second with this method, and it's nasty if I aim right. | |||

| Well, If you've put line breaks in your header, remove them, and do the same for your signature.
That should fix that huge amount of whitespace in your post. I can't figure out what's wrong with you layout, so tonight I'll see if I can get around to writing out a version of it for you. |

| Yeah, as the title suggests, I'm looking for info on where the ASM that loads the OW is located, or if anyone knows where in the ROM the OW data is stored.
The reason for this is: a) I need to insert a disable ASM into the loading code, so that is a player dies while any special code had my controller override (which I've just deugged ad finished) going, this little hack will disable the override and any controller effects in place. b) I wanted your attention, so I made a new thread c) I wanted to fluff my thread count Any help? | No, SSB was SLOW. In 4-P, it was around ~2/3 it's normal F.R. Slow, and my control stick was bad, anyways.
My N64 on it;s own was good, though. No N64 cart I own apart from SSB has had any hiccups at all. |

| Funny, you read my mind.
If I can trace the MAP16PP code as well, then I'll add in bitflags to let you have the code change the block's GFX and act like sttings easily. |

| Well, I only want the disable code to run when you're on the OW screen, since in a level, you might have spots where you want on custom block's settings to remain active for a while, so I can't put a disable routine into the main level oop, unfortunately. | |||

| Revese is left=right, up=down, A=B, Y=X, but start and select won't be modified at all.
90° D-Pad rotation could be done easily, I'll have to look into that. NOTE: This hack DOES NOT work with ZSNES 1.41 or older, and I don't know about 1.42. I only know that it works on SNES9x, and the latest WIP vesion of ZSNES. (edited by Sukasa on 12-23-05 09:11 PM) |

| Eh, made myself a new Background last night... If it's a bit dark, you'd jsut need to turn up you monitor's brightness for a bit to see it properly.
