You'd have to show me that link HH, I've never see that screenshot. And messy code is in the eye of the beholder IMO. However, we still don't know as much about SMW as FuSoYa does...

So Why on earth are there so few updates to the SMW entry on datacrystal?

It's kinda silly, I've probably made over half of all updates to that page...

Posted on 08-19-06 04:00 AM, in My CD-ROM drives won't work, HELP! Link
I'll remove it and see what happens.

I hope that the CD-ROM drives come back though, otherwise that network will be an island in a digital sea, if you get my meaning. Yea, no CD-ROm or floppy or Zip drives available if that happens (so no reinstalling Windows 98 either )

EDIT: Removed the Zip drive, and it made no difference. Also, now my secodn monitor won't work... Windows lets out a one-second beep from the PC speaker whenever it tries to turn the card on, and doesn't.

Tomorrow I back up all my files to the other PC on my network, and see about reinstallign windows, assuming that I can get access to the CD-ROM drives through the BIOS' routines... if not, then that's it for that computer.

EDIT2: Okay, What the Fuck? this morning I turned it on, and the display worked fine, that's good. so, I reinstalled the Ziop drive because all uninstalling it did was remove the only way I had of backing up files with a chance of porting them to another ocmputer, and that all worked... then, I enabled the secondary IDE channel (I had disabled it through the iwndows 'Disable in this hardware profile' option last night), and now my CD-ROM burner has come back online. OOC: Sorry.

"Yes, I am a reploid. No, I don't need those couple of things though, thanks anyways. However, I m interested in finding out what is so important of an experiment that you flouted (OOC: I hope I understand that word right) regulations to continue working on it."

Well, if this gets goign I already can think of one thing it can improve over LM one: RATS tags. Perhaps you could add compatibility for them, but for Blocktool Omega, I have a problem where there is no safe way to protect 4 1/2 banks of data tables... thus, LM itself would stand a good chance of corrupting the tables and rashing SMW... I've ocme up with a workaround - filling the table entries with $8080 as the "not used" word, which should hopefully stop LM from overwriting the BTO table... at the expense of two unused activation bitflags. not bad, but then again not good either.

No, hiring a band of mercenaries to kill anyone found pirating software/MP3s/whatever. Like that one clip I saw somewhere on the net, some violent RIAA anti-piracy ad.

Well, make a set of two variables that are not going to be overwritten for the sprite, and then set each of them to a random number ONCE. After that, set the sprite to those two variable, and the sprite will be set to a random place on the screen and not move.

That's what you wanted, right?

Actually, I prefer the in-ROM RATS tag myself... That's another advantqage of an open-source editor: support for both methods could be achieved.

And a RATS2 system that would allow larger amounts of data to be reserved would be win in my book.

pikaguy: if for example your ROM was named mario.smc, edit (or create) with notepad the mario.DSC file that's in the same folder as your ROM. Then check the LM help file for info on how to change the block descriptions with said file.

replace mario.smc and mario.dsc with the name of your ROM.

Well, I'll disconnect the CRD-8240B (or some very similar number) and see if that works... Also, apparently earlier in it's life this motherboard doubled as a pyrotechnics show, perhaps that's just ocming back to bite me in the ass.

(No, seriously. The guy at the 'build your own computer' course tried to play a mean trick on me with this board... but I wound up making him bug out instead :LOL

I dunno if I've posted the latest forest BG, or the old one... was the BG a slight edit of the SMW original or completely new?

Anyways, I've almost finished the last level, which leaves just some of the fortresses and ASM coding left to do. Well, that and repairing some of my override blocks, the controller override blocks (and only thsoe ones ) were corrupted, so I need to recode them. pretty easy to do though.

Maybe. Depends though, because I don't have a great grip on that myself... Onc eI do though, then yes.

And for a good DMA document, look up qwertie's SNES hardware doc, that covers them well.

I checked and double-checked.

Also, the PSU is mroe than god enough, and lastly; I've found a )poor_ workaround. Turnsou thtat If I disable my secondary IDE channel and restart, then enable it, I can get access to my CD Burner.

the CRD-8240B doesn't work in windwos at all any more... and removing it crashed the computer becuase ESDI_506.pdr (a driver for the secondary IDE channel) locked up whil Windows was trying to initialize it... perhaps a corrupt driver?

OOC: Does this have anything to do with any of your old stories on the archived board(s)?

"ANOTHER crash?! Wow, all this tech and no-one's figured out how to prevent people from hitting each other all the time,"

Thought Snipes, shaking his head while listening to a hand-held radio. Sitting on a park ench, Snipes had been relaxing in a park in Sector 7. His plan was to pass through Japan on a sight-seeing trip out in this part of the world. Snipes had actually been taking a lot of trips lately, he noted. Not that it mattered though- it wasn't like there was anything he was needed for anyways. Looking around, Snipes smiled. Tokyo-3 was usually very busy, but it seemed like it had fallen quite quiet temporarily. Snipes knew it wouldn't last, but he enjoyed the moment of peace all the same. On a whim, Snipes pulled out a small PALM-like organizer from his hackpack that was at his feet, s medium-sized brownish-black backpack with red trim. Turning on the Organizer, Snipes re-checked his planned itinerary.

"Okay... here for another day, then I'm heading southwest to Thailand. After than, northwest and on to... aw, hell! this stupid thing got corrupted again!"

Cursing quietly, Snipes began to fiddle with the device, fixing the trip itinerary.

Yes.

Well, for the 65c816 side of the equation. I think the DSP-1 uses a different instruction set though. I would have absolutely no idea which set that is, or what documentation there is on it; check the ZSNES board, they should have some stuff on it there.

All 64KB is usable. Originally, the design was for 32KB, but at the last minute the design was change to double that amount. hence, 64KB SPC700 dumps.
