Chuckling, Snipes walked up to Zach, having heard everything he said.

"That's fine if you've done well without regulartions before.

Now you get to follow them."

! Taking the elevator sprite that MikeyK made, I've made a sprite styled after the elevator found in Kirby Super Star! Thanks in no small part to MikeyK, it is fully functional and bug-free. I'm releasing a demo showcasing the elevator in both a horizontal and vertical level.

Please note that I woudl like it if you didn't start and hacks by basing them off this one. Instead, I'd like you to enjoy this demo for a few hours while I make the code well-commented and set up a better setup for you to work with. Then I'll release everything.

Anyways: the .ips of the demo:
http://www.freewebs.com/darkflight_devil/2mario.ips

EDIT: I forgot to mention, please ignore the obvious graphical issue with the bushes. This is a demo for the elvators, so I overwrote some of the bush GFX. Who is really going to care about that, though?

"...What format?" does not equal "Here it is".

Boche never specified a format, and so it was never made.

I think they do... I'm pretty sure the batteries have a conenction to the power bus, because they have to be connected to the actual SRAM as well.

But... I said I was making a version that was easier to use... and has the ASM... and all that...

Anyways, I didn't post this before (oops), but the elevator will not interact wth sprites. I can't see that being a problem though.

Oh... did you see the animation on the elvator when you're moving through a shaft?

And if KATW is doing the random selectiosn himself, I know that for myself, I find it hard to be random because I am baised towards picking something not already picked.

So, if that holds true for KATW then those who were mafia have a higher chance of beign civilians this round.

I would have sped them up... but I haven't yet figured out how to speed mario up with them If I just increase the sprit's speed, then when the elevator is going down, it messes up and you ultimately end up going down at that speed anyways... just really jerkily.

I actually wanted to have them moving at double that speed :/

Well. There's a working solution.

But I changed my mind: Double-speed is too slow. Triple-speed is nice, however.

Just change the LDA #$10 to LDA #$20, right?

EDIT: OK, got that all to work. Now to do a bit on a starter ROM, then I'll be ready to release the elevator starter kit, plus:

  • elevator.asm

  • elevator.cfg

  • elevator_fast.cfg

Yes, "elevator_fast". You can now change the speeds through the property bytes.

In the readme I'll list the maximum value for each direction - any more and the screen can't scroll fast enugh to keep up with Mario. Also, the two directions are seperate from each other. therefore, you could have an elevatorf that goes up REALLY slowly, and down REALLY fast.

EDIT2: Release!
http://www.freewebs.com/darkflight_devil/elevatorworld.rar

That's got a readme, two ready-made .cfg files, the .ips of the starter rom, the sprites.txt file that contains the lines you need to avoid breaking the pre-placed elevators, and the elevator ASM file. not that there is ONE ExGFX file in there, it has the elevator graphics, because they replace the Banzai Bill graphics.

The Banzai Bill GFX are still safe and sound in GFX file 20.

If the crack doesn't hit too many leads, and no chips, then you might be able to fix it.

Open up the cart (somehow), and pull the cracked PCB out. (If the pieces are large, and not one small bit and one large bit, you are most likely f*cked.

takign a snrwedriver/knife/anythign, carefully scrape off hte greenish covering that's ove rhte copper leads underneath.

taking a sodlering gun, melt solder across those leads to reconenct them, and careful not to make any short-circuits.

take tape/glue/whatever, and keep the pieces of the PCB together so they don't break apart at the sodler joint, then place the assembly back into your cart, put it all back together, plug it into your Genesis or what-have-you, and hope it works.

If it doesn't, keep the cart and D/L a ROM.

Just change the tileset. click the poison mushroom in the LM menu bar, and change it to castle 1 or whatever for a castle entrance, or Ghost house 1 or whatever for a ghost house entrance.
