Alastor, that wouldn't work. new version of ZSNES (I don't know about SNES9X) also include the SRAM i save states. I know, I lost a bit of data on Kirby Super Star by loadin gan old sve state

One could argue that nintendo is partly in it to make games, based on comments they've made in the apst... I'll go looking for htose ocmments to back my point up... the truth is (IMO) that all companies are in it slightly for the money. they need to maintain their bottom line, after all. If they don't, then they go bankrupt. simple as that.

I don't get all the stuff about having absolutely zero typos. I suppose Alastor had some very good reasons for it, but for me it seems a little overzealous to be concerned about every little typo that you make. Mixing up one or two letters in a post doesn't seem as bad as say, this for example:
HaY I'M nU HeAr
or something along those lines. that's just a little too bad.

Has anyone tried the ZSNES WIP? If not, I will... I know that I wrote some valid code that read the controller inputs (nintendo's own routine did this bit) as part of a hack for SMW, that onyl worked on the latest ZSNES WIP, maybe this'll work on the WIP too.

Well, coem patches are OK to use together. Say, the fix MAP16++ for blocks over $400, and the DW3 music patch, or the controller override patch, because it uses space in the original ROM for example.

Those are safe because they modify data that is not going to damage your hack, but you should make backups anyways to be sure (unless you haven't made any changes yet )

And to stop you from re-entering the level, umm... if you didn't want to back to it after, you could use the "no re-entry" flag in LM. if you needed to go back to it again, then... I *think* there was a tile you could stand on that didn't let you enter it... or you could diable the timer in the level, and then put the exit in a section of the level where it is impossible to die after getting there (like, a 3-screen room with the exit only), and have a custom block modify the overworld data.

Sweet elevator, MikeyK. Is it OK, if I change it's graphics a bit? I might make it have a larger gaphical look... and maybe wider too, if I look up one clipping field...

Do you mean the flashing? That's the only glitchign I'm aware of... unless you might mean mario going off on a totally different path.

For the first, it's a palette issue in the level that causes the glitch. for the second, it's the default paths. For anything else, I have no idea without a more concise ewxplanation of the glitch.

I'll have to play PD some time then...

Eh, Laptop, Notebokk, whatever, I use the term laptop myself, and I know someone who uses notebook. Does it matter what particular word you use? Although, if I got my own... I probably actually get a DIY kit. costs less, and offers comparative performance, and you're not paying for what you don't want.

The XBOX wasn't made to get get, they lose cash with every sale of a unit...

and I don't buy SONY because I dn't trust their product quailty. my friend has a PS2... it failed (couldn't read disks). I don't buy XBOX because I don't see a good reason to. I also dislike SONY because of the rootkit fiasco.

I like Nintendo because I can trust that their products will work, they have the games I like, and the price is pretty low, to boot. I also like nintendo, because instead of making a bigger controller, they went for something new. Now, look at the Wii's controller and it's possibilities. That's just another reaosnm I prefer Nintendo - innovation above and beyond SONY and Micorsoft.

That shouldn't be too hard. Resize that one to 48X48, with the bottom line being solid. I take it that $0C would be the 3-tile width setting then? $08 seems to be two, so it makes sense.

Yeah... It's sorta like the elevator style is Kirby Super star, 'cept it's not autonomous. if anyone else want is when I'm done, let me know in PM.

EDIT: I found a wierd bug with the hammer brother. Well, two. first of all, if you're using a PAR code such as 7E001901 in ZSNES, the hammer brother apparently crashes the game. I'll send you the .IPS for what I mean. The glitch continued until I restarted ZSNES.

Also, the second bug is that for some reason, after going back and forth 3 times in this one level, the hammer brother crashedhen he began executing.

Now, I think some of this may be related to ZSNES 1.42, since resetting didn't fix the bug, but the hammer brother seemed to caus ethe bur to start. when it crashed, layer 1 woudl be shifted a bit, and the game would freeze. Mario woudl also warp the the middle of the screen.

Well,I don't think anyone really knos what's going on. if need be, just port everything to a new ROM. If that still has problems... try a different ROM. That's all I can and will suggest.
