Yeah... I'm working on a little server program that is designed for use with 32 differnt conenctions at once... however, it doesn't work properly. I can tell youexcetly what doesn't work right:

In the included file CLserver.rar, and in frmMain.frm, the SendtoAll loop has the problem. In it, it calls the "SendData" method of all of the 32 elements of the ms winsock control in the control array "TCPClientport([0 - 31])" to send various strings to all the connected users. however, only the very last person to have connected will get the data, for the rest the send doesn't complete, or even start!

However, if I pause the program in the VB6 IDE, and then unpause it, everythign sends fine. likewise, if the last person to have logged on to the server logs off, then the second-last person will recieve ALL of their messages in one long string then next time the server sends anything out, as they will begin recieving data.

So... does anyone have an idea how to fix this? also: the server gives out fairly detailed info, and it makes the bug apparent, if you just run it. note that you'll need to network at least 2 computers together for this to work, and the battletankz.rar file has a program that's designed compatible with the CLserver program that's buggy.

Lastly, to connect to the CL server, when battletankz loads, access the connection dialog (upper-right corner has the access button), and set the conenction up there.

Oh, and for anyone security-minded, the battletankz program *ahem* stores registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Codedlance Games\Battletankz\

EDIT: Oops... I forgot to add the attachments. I'll create links to them, hold on a sec.

EDIT2:
Batteltankz.rar
CLserver.rar

Eh... Screw DRM. Personally, I don't believe that what DRM plans to do is worth jack-all.

First off, DRM for audio is laughable - a $3 cable will net you non-protected copies of all DRM audio clips (mini gold stereo extension cable, doulbe-sided male), and without internet on my normal computer, this whole "broadcast your actions" thing won't apply to me.

Yay, new round!

*Runs back over from the other end of the earth*

Well, I'm not mafioso anymore, I'll probably just be a bystander now. Should be interesting to play from this perspective Unless I get killed first round

Yeah... This is a story I'm doing for a character or Clockworkz', "Nikki". I posted it here instead of hte story forum simply because for me, the stroy forum is a palce to post stories where everyone can take part, but here, this is basically a look but don't touch type story.

Since it's an 18KB page...

Huh. I have never experienced a sudden storm. Where I live, you can always tell when there's a chance of a storm - the clouds get dark. light clouds - it's not goign to rain. medium-grey clouyds? a drizzle. dark clouds? a downpour or worse.

never sudden storms.

And at my ranking in the ACS.

Reformatting for me involves kiling every file on the hard drive, among other things

But yeah, try searching for those addresses in the registry. I've never had that problem, because I keep my days to rememebr stuff at 0.

Also, those lines that don't disappear- have you gone to them today? they'll be around if they've been accesssed since the last wipe of the history.

Is it in their post layout? if so, you need to PM them directly - it's their layotu that's at fault.

OOC: Ummm we still need some bad guys people.

Please don't autoplay me...

And sorry for being late.

Snipes: "Well, if you guys don't mind losing it, then..."

Chuckling, Snipes slid into an empty seat. Taking his cards, he assumed a poker stance, and revelaed nothing. That's the advantage of being a reploid.

As an option, why not have the program disable the alpha channel for 16/24-bit videocards, and possibly in a future version give the user the option of emulating the alpha through software?

By emulating it, it sorta meant not showing the alpha-channel parts at first, then simply taing the opacity percentage for the translucent polygon, and adding it's RBG values * it's translucency to 100 - Percentage * the visible pixel's transparency, and then posting that to the scren. Probably wouldn't work too well, though.

and it'd be slow.

That.... is a pretty good idea.

However, if the regular mafia memebers are killed, then they lose... otherwise, it's just not fair.

...Due, grey?

Eh... I'm surprised I'm still on the top ten. Anyways, I suppose I might manage to make it into the monthly top ten as well.... probably not though :/

But it's not so hot here. The downstairs is always cool, and we keep a portable air conditioner running all day, so we keep nice and cool.

What's stupid is that if everyone around the world jumped at the same time, the earth'd go nowehere. The effect of the people jumping on one side of the world would be nullified by the people jumping on the others side of it.
