You knwo how in windows, you can right click on and empty area, and in the popup menu, you can select to create a new file? where is the data for that stored? I'd like to add my own files in there, but I don't know where to place and keys/files/whatever to do so.

Thanks. I wanted to create an HTML template-type file, which had the HTML, HEAD, and BODY tags in it already.

When you missed the second part when I read your post, I wound up figuring it out on my own, but thanks for getting me started.

What I just said

Also, for puttin gthe chip hack in... just put the chip down on the PCB, pins against their contacts, and heat them. the contacts have the sodler already on them, so it shoudl work fine. if not, you ned to sodler each pin down, and then just scrape off the excess oslder with the iron.

Most keyboards don't support many keys pressed down at once... I have one that doesn't have that limitation, but overall that's a rare trait, not having that limit.

Yeah, you'll probably need to figure out a way to make your keyboard work- try alternating left and right alt/cntl/whatever buttons when you can, someone else managed to do so and get M16-7K to work.

jEdit - a text/HTML/Almost Anything editor, made with Java (platform independent) that uses plugins and has complete documentation on making your own plugins as well. Very nice, and is still being worked on. Includes syntax highlighting and all that, too.

Did I mention it's free?

Well... SMW MUST store mario's pixel-by-pixel X/Y locations somewhere.

Anyways, what does it do, when you say it fails?

OK... Will you be adding more tutorials as time goes on? I have a specific sprite I want to create, and now I can get part of it working, but... it's supposed to be an elevator-type sprite. just download and play Kirby Super Star, and play the great cave offensive, and you'll know what I mean. What I would like to know is, is there any way to make mario stand on two different parts of the sprite, and is there any way to find out which kind of block is at a given tile at any time?

Nevermind hte second question, I figured the answer out.

Right in the beginning of the sprite's .ASM code.

I thnk you can do that with just about ANY active server technology.

I'm pretty sure you can also do that with ASP... and any other AST too, I'd imagine.

...for now.

Get really good at SMW hacking, then maybe you'll be able to make a racer sprite for mario. Until then though, you'll have to just go without.
