| Sukasa, without my own site yet, and I've released a couple of patches for SMW hackers to use... I'm working on something really big on the moment though (Look up blockTool Omega). I'm lso working on the COTMK series, which got some good previews. they're on gold though; Discorvery Computers dumbasses screwe up my drives, and I need to save up $200 to try and get the data back.
1.What draws you to the ROM hacking community? It's fun, a nice hobby, because I like to be able to create new worlds, because it's always been a dream to be able to make my own mario games, and because overall, I like the communitry here. 2. Do you think playing/modifying hacked ROMs should be more user friendly? No. Those people who can't figure out how to use an IPS program and know to use a fresh ROM shouldn'tplay/hack ROMS until they learn. 3.What are the advantages/disadvantages of ROM hacking vs. ripped sprites with code written from scratch? Advantage: you don't have to code nearly as much, just the occasional little ASM hack or whatever, you can see the results of your work aslmost instantly, as opposed to haveing to complete a huge amount of a new ROM before your handiwork can be veiwed. Disadvantage: You don't know how the internal engine works, or how to be able to slice-n-dice it to meet your requirements, whereas with a new ROM you simply open up notepad or whatever, and have at it. 4. Do you think there are limits to what people should be allowed to do with their games? No. Limiting people kills ambition, greatness. Hacks wouldn't have new ideas, new features if there were limits set. Besides, who would actually take heed of them? 5.What do you think about the future of the ROM hacking community? I think that as computers get more powerful, people will more and more start to hack 3-D games instead of 2-D games, and new 2-D hacks will slowly start to disappear. Now for several years, though. |

| Yes, you could do that. Then just change the MAP16 of whatever tile you want to change colours on to that new palette rouw, and then tweak the colours for that palette. | |||

| I have one of those batteryless packs...
Try looking for a lead from the N64 port on your rumble pack to whatever controls the motor's power, abd route that to the motor instead and disconnect the battery jacks from the motor's power supply. maybe that'll work. If not, try looking for a power lead by tracing leads on your n64's controller PCB, and then connect that pin on the rumble pack to the motor, through whatever controls the motor. Clear as mud, right? |

| So, I'm trying to get two floppy drives to go in my computer, since I have 3 right now. However, none of them seem to work together. One of the drives has a jumper set that lets me choose between "IF", "H2", "DS0", and "DS1"; one of the drives has only a switch to select between "0" and "1", and on eof the drives has nothing at all, just "I/F" next to the floppy cable port.
My question is, does anyone have any suggestions for getting any two of these drives working? they all work fine alone, but together, they either don't work at all, only one of them works, or they both somehow become drive A:\, and not A:\ and B:\ like they should. |

Kilobyte: Common: 1, 000 Bytes Actual: 1, 024 Bytes ...And so on. I don't usually care which was I use them, and sometimes I switch them up several times a day, depending on what is most useful for me. Just like Darkslaya. |

Yeah, all the time. I have a combination of MIDI files and SPC700 dumps on my computer, although only like 30 songs total or something. I used to have hundreds of MIDIs, but they all got erased  |

| Eh, the latest dream I can remember is one about Lost in Blue... I'd always be cating black bass and getting the best stuff, but my spear broke almost hourly and I could never get what I needed to fix it... then i'd have a 98% meal, and be at 3% stomach in a few game hours. I could never get ahead.
Also, that happened to me in a level from Shadow the Hedgehog... I could never find all of the GUN soldiers I was trying to kill... then I decided, "This is the last one.". I won the level... Then got stuck on the next with 150 GUN soldiers to find and destroy. I never finished the level. |

And personally, if not for the fact that it IS the SMW hacking forum, I honestly would just post in the ROM hacking forum, because I feel that the SMW forum doesn't give real feedback; there aren't enough people who know what the fuck they're doing there- they all seem to be in the ROM hacking forum. |

...Yeah, and all the other consoles had lower tech specs as well. Wii FTW. frankly, I don't mind paying $250 or even a bit more (but that won't happen.) for the Wii, even $300 would be worth it for that, IMO, and the price is knwhere near that high.  |
