| Does anyone know of any lossless compression algorithms that have their data formats available to read? I need to implement lossless comrpession into a SNES rom I'm making, but for that I need to know the specs for something. BTW, the compression is for graphics, sound samples, and level data, etc. | |||

| OK. Is there anywhere I can get the info on how zlib compresses data? I just need to know the formula in order to be able to decompress files. | |||

| In 65816, ther is a command that goes somewhat like LDA [&xx]. Am I right in assuming that from what I understand of the command, that the processor would load A with the value in RAM that $xx points to, e.x. if $xx is $02, and at $02 there is the value #$04, then A would be loaded with #$04 after LDA [$xx]?
If so, how many bytes large is the address pointer that would be stored in $xx? 1, 2, or 3 bytes large? |

um... yeah... I'm trying to get a program that acts as a server on a network, using the TCP protocol in VB6. My problem is, the server usually doesn't recieve connection requests after the first one. The way the server program was designed was that there would be 33 MS Winsock controls on the form, which is height 0 and width 0. There would be 32 or them in an array which handle connections, and one which sets them up, taking in connection requests and making an open port accept them. However, after the first connection, the "TCPConnector" winsock control stops recieving requests. Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong with this code? There is also a timer, but that's used for mostly the caption at the bottom.
If anyone would like the whole .vbp project and form and everything, I can package the three things into a .zip file and upload for them. EDIT: nvm. The error was "Address In Use", from the program connecting to the server code above. ...That's on the client side, right? (edited by Sukasa + on 04-13-06 03:43 PM) |

| THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
That will help me very much both in programming and in making up a better file with definitions of the different styles of addressing and that for 65816. |

| Eh, I later found the problem. I fixed it, it was client-side. Now, however, there is a new problem. If I have more than one client, then only the last person to join in will recieve messages, the rest can only send, and won't even recieve the messages they sent! | |||

| just write past the EOF. I did that in binary with my own code, without using byte arrays or anything. it worked fine. | |||

| Well, you could try modifying the level's MAP16 level data, and then you'd jsut need to find out your scroll amount, in blocks, and re-upload the graphics data to VRAM so the changes'd show... that would work. | |||

| Wierd... The sprite is casuing the problem. The dorr resetting is caused by how SMW seesm to handle uploading graphics data from the MAP16 tables to VRAM., which means that the level's internal tilemap isn't changed, just the graphics. you'd need to find out where in the ROM the sprite that draws the door is getting it's tilemap data from and change that to the correct tiles. | |||

Cool, thanks guys! I hit upon a compression spec I liked, although it wasn't any of those ( ), and I'll just juggle that around a bit and use it. |

| ...Well, there must be SOME code that isn't compressed, mainly the decompression code, right? Why not try and find that? | |||

| Try adding "margin-right:0px;" to the bottom of that CSS. I'm pretty sure that will work in IE. | |||

| Yea, I'm working on a school project (the school has flash MX), and for some reason, whenever the "stop();" command is recieved, the program goes back to the first frame before stopping. There's only one scene, and no code to make the program change scenes, except for "on (release) {gotoAndPlay("Scene 2", 1)}" and one for scene three on two buttons... Why is my flash project doing that?
Oh, and if you need a copy of th .fla I can send it to you. |

| I'm working on a multiplayer game with chat support, that runs off a central server. it seems to work fine, except for one problem. Whenever there is more than one connection, only the last connected person to Battletankz gets any messages sent. I am using two computers, one as the server and a client, and one as the other client However, after the last computer to log on logged off, the other computer recieved all it's messages in a bundle when I sent one message from it!
EDIT: Here is the whole project, the program and the server code. battletankz + the server EDIT2: I found the problem... sort of. It seems that the server's senddata line ine the "SendToAll" subroutine doesn't work properly... it will only send to the last person to log on, until I hit the pause button and then the run button in sequence. Then the send to all the user completes and everyone gets the message... (edited by Sukasa + on 05-04-06 10:59 AM) (edited by Sukasa + on 05-04-06 02:41 PM) |

I looked this up and it's actually free from Microsoft (Incredibly surprising), but I'm wondering, does it support any of the following features that I'm used to using? If not, I'm going to save up for a version that does...
I'd like to know, because I'm used to VB6 professional edition, which is what my school has. |

| I liked Shadow The Hedgehog... Some of the levels were pretty fun.
Eh... Sonic Adventure 1/2 had some moments where it felt cliche'd or awkward, but overall it was pretty good. Personally, a slightly darker Sonic wouldn't be all that bad... I suppose that's why my Sonic game in the works is darker than these ones. |
