| Frustrated with his failed attempts to get a townperson's attention, Snipes shook his head and left the square.
"Well, I still don't know where I am nor when, and nobody here seems to acknowledge me... Great." Wandering out down one of the town's streets, Snipes meandered out of the town and sat down outside it, leaning against a tree. "Huh... None of this is familiar to me..." Looking around, Snipes saw a path leading out of the town, and down a hill to a terminus he couldn't see. Around the other side of the town, there were several stanrge creatures roving around, but none of them were near him. Leaning back, Snipes relaxed against the trunk of the tree, his mind racin gon how to find out where and when he was. |

| ...And in that crash, it seemed to be related to either the tilemaps of the graphics later on. Before those I had a palette upload, which worked fine. Also, in that ROM, it seemed that the MVP instruction I was using didn't work for some reason... I think it might be interrupts messed with it.
Anyways, that ROM... died in my computer's hard drive failure, so I'm redoing it from scratch... On an old WIN3.1 compy :\ |

| I've installed fresh from that CD before... I dunno. I'll try going into it though windows, and DOS can read the drive, although I had to get used to it's drive indentifiers (CD-ROM is A:\, floppy is B:\, HD is C:\...)
Also, the disk isn't a RW. What really confuses me is that a few months ago, I tried this and failed, but the Win98 disk actually made it farther into the setup program before freezing... I'll have another few goes at this. Besides, I booted from the CD by changing the BIOS settings, so DOS had nothign to do with the bott at first, AFAIK. EDIT: This is stupid. It's definitely not the disc, because it's in fine condition, and it's a CD-R. I tried running the autoexec.bat file on the CD, but it told me that the drive "OEMCD001" , well, maybe with one more "0", was not found. This is stupid. The disc works on every other computer I've used it on, but not this one. (edited by Sukasa + on 02-20-06 02:25 PM) |

| It was by quirk of fate that Snipes happened to be lookiung in the direction of Sky when he used his fire attack, and saw the flames. His curiosity piqued, Snipes got up and began to walk over toward the spot where he'd seen the flames.
"Now what in the world was that?" |

| Interesting idea, alastor. I can sorta see how you'd do this, but that would require one to know where in the ROM the data for the cinematics are, and make it so that certain RAM flags are set when you beat a castle. | |||

| I found a good MIDI file for my area...
VGmusic doesn't allow hotlinking, so it's: GBA => A-F ==> F-Zero GP legend=> Mist Flow. |

Well, why would they even have those registers if they didn't work on the real thing? Those registers will really help with my filing system in my SNES game... fragmented files aren't always fun. ![]() |

| I agree with you disch. I find those sorts of things to be quite annoying, mostly. The only one I don't fully agree with you on is the userbar subject. two or three is fine for me, but I hate any more than that in a post. That's what Bios are for. | |||

| As Snipes stumbled closer to where he'd seen the flames, he started to hear what sounded like voices. Distracted a bit by them, Snipes looked up, and missed a rock on the ground. Smashing his foot into it, Snipes let out a small yell or pain and promptly fell over from his loss of balance.
Ow... Damn. I need to watch where I'm going." Shaking his head, Snipes got up off the ground. |

| OOC: That's fine. Snipes will just... Find himself going their way.
When Snipes made it over the last hump between him and the burn mark, he was a little mystified by teh burn. If was oddly circular, and there was no visible sign of ashes. "Strange... That couldn't be natural, because every fire I've had experience with has been random, or at least had ashes." Pondering this, Snipes turned towards where he had heard the voices, and set off at a brisk pace, still saving the energy in his repulsors for when he needed it. |

| While Snipes had been walking along at a fair pace, when he heard the shriek, he sped up, wondering what was happening. As he got closer to where it came from, Snipes found the bodies of the four dead wolves.
"Yikes. Looks like someone didn't appreciate the local wildlife "
Letting out a small giggle at his own joke, Snipes kept forging ahead, catching up to those ahead of him. OOC: I don't think you guys are too familiar with my character. Do you want me to introduce him a bit? |

| DOS can read the CD fine (Dir A:\), and run autoexec.bat off it... but that just gives me the "OEMCD0001" problem once autoexec starts and clears the screen. Wierd though, that the command "edit A:\autoexec.bat" loads the file up fine.
I'll try a different CD drive, but as for the HD... I got mad, and ran fdisk on it. No more DOS. |

| As the group of bandits approached Snipes, he reacted to them by drawing one of his pistols, [He had two] and getting into a crouched position. Tracking the nosie of the voices, Snipes maintained an intent watch on the crest of the hill. Slowly creeping upward, Snipes caught the bandits with their backs turned. Not wanting a confrontation is he could avoid it, since these weren't the voices Snipes had heard earlier, he tried to sneak past them and keep on going.
*SNAP!* Looking down, Snipes realized that he had just stepped on a noisy little branch. Reacting quickly, Snipes looked up at the bandits. To them, Snipes would have looked like any regular person at first glance, with a tan T-shirt and cotton pants, although at the moment they were tied only with a length of white rope. Around this 'belt' Snipes carried only he supplies he'd had on him when he got here, namely 3 grenades, and 2 smoke grenades, as well as his two pistols and the sword on his back, all three being energy weapons. OOC: Do those weapons need omes? If so, Snipes is in for a little trouble ![]() |

| Well, I don't know the code, but I can easily modify one segment of my code to only allow mario to use the non-D pad buttons while in the OW, and send it to you if you want. | |||

| 7 cycles a byte. I've changed my mind to use DMA for all file loading in that ROM. Now I just have to put together a macro system that works... I might be asking for help in that regard... | |||

| OOC: Snipes doesn't kill.... unless he has to.
Eyeing the bandits carefully, Snipes backed up a bit, purposefully showing fear. ~Well, if they don't try anything, there won't be a problem...~ Keeping his attention on the bandits, Snipes made a quick glance with his eyes over to where he hoped to be going, and very quietly turned on his foot repulsors, and slowly glided almost unnoticably towards where the other band of people had gone. "Fancy maybe, but they're nasty when they're on. Tell ya what- You leave me alone, I'll leave you alone. Don't mess with assassins, well, ex-assassins." |
