Correct.

Also, I've finished the version 0.5 Beta. Now I just need to get freewebs to fricken' work, and I'll have a link for you guys.

Keep in mind it's quite poor right now, but that'll get better as I add more features

EDIT: Great, jogin.jsp on the freewebs site disappeared, so I can't log in.

It looks like it'll be a bit of a while, guys.

Well, I took the drive that had contined COTMK 1 on it to professional data recovery, and the guys there got several 4Mb .SMC files off of the drive, so once I get the CD with the files I'll be sure, but from what I've heard, it sounds like COTMK 1 might be un-cancelled quite soon!

Keep you fingers crossed!

Well, If you haven't played the demo, the latest version of the hack went to FuSoYa as a bug report... Try http://www.freewebs.com/darkflight_Devil/Chronicles1Fu.ips if you want to try the hack's 4-month-old demo.

Well, there wer several 4Mb .SMC files, and with 2 different copies of the ROM (one about 2 weeks outdated, but still good, mostly.) floating around, I've got a good chance of recovering the data.

...

Techokami, if you make another backup, does SMWOE cause the problem, or does Bio's patch?

If you fiddle with all the SMWOE controls and it ausesa that problem, I don't want Bio to have to try and find a glitch or problem with his code that doesn't exist.

Those are great ideas, GP.

What about... Turning dragon coins into "kill all sprites onscreen" bomb-type-things? One of the extra blocks available for blocktool has the code for that you could use.

Of course, you'd need to make the coins rarer, as well as setting a control button for them. (X, anyone?)

Hang on, the boss jump is not affected by Bio's code, that's already in SMW. I just use SMWOE to change the data... Have you tried using the boss jump data without using Bio's patch?

I just made that an option to allow anyone who actually wanted to exploit it to it's fullest could do that.

Also, greater compatibility with anyone who did that already w/ a hex editor.

I know what messed the mario jump... My misunderstnading of two bytes, leading me to change them too... Gah!

(BTW, I don't work on SMWOE again until I get back to school in 1- days... Ignore the M/L jump dialog, everything else works fine, including the hex editor dialog )

I picked SMW for two reasons (Hey, SMW is mairo):
  • I always wanted to make levels for SMW

  • SMW provides an excellent platform to learn about all aspects of the SNES

So yeah, that's why I picked mario.

Next, I'm not too sure which game I'll work on.

I'm making a fangame of mine as an SNES ROM, but I have one question about it:

Since it's mine (original), am I allowed to post a direct link to it's ROM here when done? I can't see why not, but I figure it would be best to ask.

Posted on 02-03-06 09:15 PM, in VB6 - Writing a string variable (variable equivalent of varname.WriteLine) Link
Yeah, I'm using the new FileSystemObject in my code for some software for my school, and I'm having problems. I've managed to get everything to work except one thing: I can't write the data I edit after I finish with the program. The code goes in the Form_Unload() subroutine, and the ONE line I'm having problems with is this one:

Ts.WriteLine Strings(a)

Now, Ts is a TextStream object, and Strings(a) is a string variable in for loop a.

I need to know what command I can use instead to write the string variable to the file, followed by a newline character.

Yeah... Why not have the category (music, auditing, etc...) for a top-10 download be displayed? "F-Zero X" looks like it refers to a ROM, and I don't believe that there are any ROMs on acmlm.org.

The program writes the variable to a file in the same folder as the program, named "Data", with no extension.

It's actually a .txt file to the program, but in the interests of looking official and not something to be messed with by oother students, I used "Data" instead of "Pages.txt".

OK, So I can use that code to write the lines to the File, and then use the FileSystemObject to read from them, or do I need to change anything for that?

Thank you very much, BGNG.

All right, so I can use that to load the data into my array, and have each entry in the array be one of the lines?

Cool, that really helps. I'd probably change the MsgBox and Exit Sub lines to something that rebuilds the Data file, and then I can place that into my load routine, as well as change the freefile to nothing, and hardcode data as #1, since that's the only file the program ever opens. Also, I shouldn't need NumLines, sinc the array is excatly 25 lines large, and enything bigger would mean that the data file has been tampered with.

Kyouji: Set the end of the pipe tile to act as tile 1EB, and save it to a new MAP16 page.

Place that under the triangle to fix your problem. And, uh... The one water Layer 1 tile is screwy, mario needs a consistent path to move on, not a broken one like that.

On the subject of glitches, play the original MSW, and in one of the foreste levels where there is a wiggler and a hammer brother in the same spot, get killed while above the wiggler.

Now, does anyone have an idea for a fix for that?
