I found that Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time was very good too. It had an even difficulty curve and finished up challenging by the near-end.

I liked Paper Mario best, myself. Zelda OoT came in a close second.

Hm, X816ii2F works fine for me

Okay... It's mostly pretty easy.

I'm going to show you how to do this in hex:

LDA #$02
STA $7E0019
RTS

Okay, so this is how you'd do the first one:

A9 02

Now, A9 is the hex version of LDA #$__ It can be LDA #$xx or LDA #$xxxx, depending on the processor bit width for the accumulator.

02 in that represents #$02. No biggie there.

then comes STA $7E0019. Pay close attention!
8F 19 00 7E

8F is, IIRC (I'm tired right now), STA $xxxxxx

19 00 7E is the address to store to. see how it's order is reversed? All numbers in 65c816 ASM are like that. Thus, 19 00 7E becomes 7E 00 19 when not reversed.

Lastly, RTS.

60

this is because 60 is RTS in hex, and there are no extra numbers to be had with this command.

Just a pair of EBGames here. The guys here are pretty good, and they take their jobs seriously. I've never had any complaints with either of the stores.

Well, yeah. The thing is, I wanted to draw a direct line between the 24-bit text address and the hex.

besides, I always use 24-bit addresses anyways

What do you mean by recode?

And if you have learned 6502, but you're looking for 65816, I wrote a pretty basic 65816 tutotial in the SMW hacking forum, so if you need help don't be afraid to ask for it there.

No, the game remembers them, at least a little. Try playing donut secret 1 twice, getting all the dragon coins the first time. In SMAS+W at least, they shouldn't be there the second time.

Now, I unfortunately think that SMW didn't keep this data in SRAM or maybe not even regular RAM for too long |; Can anyone confirm or (hopefully) disprove this?

Then I would think that I need to look at how SMW handles saving the coin count, and work at backing it up into SRAM.

I don't have much of a problem with it. It's a bit of a shock to get one because they always feel so cold, but other than that I'm fine with it, though I don't enjoy it.

that shouldn't change anything, it's only a GPU bit being set. (well, a couple).

Look at the original Layer 3 smash and autoscroll command in Iggy's castle, that shoudl help you figure out how to make two scroll commands work together, unless that's just one autoscroll command .

I really dislike people who cheat. I was playing against a guy in MKDS, and in Sky Garden he was driving around the middle of the level and by the time I was a quarter done the first lap, he'd finished in first . Heh, he got disconnected on my second lap though.

You'd think that these games could check for cheaters and compensate, though

Well, I was talking about something along the lines of checking outside the problem DS. If the one DS is running altered code or data (through replay or mod), any other DS's playing it would check up on it, and if what it was doing didn't match other DS's, that DS would be disconnected or whatever.
