Pros: Already listed.

Cons: Only two real cons, the Holes that caused the latest restart, and the frequent downtimes (although that's been fixed with the new server, AFAIK).

Well, take a new ROM, then what you want5 to do is replace that statement with a JSL statement to a custom subroutine that checks the player flag, chooses a jump height accordingly, then does the next opcode after the JDA you replaced, then RTL back.

If that crashes, I have no idea why it would.

Hmmm... could you give us any hints on what sort of stuff to look for, in order to help find that data again?

Also, I have another idea how to do this: create the sprites in LM, then make a block that sets some RAM offset (which resets every time you enter a level) to a number other than 0, then place that in the midle of your screen.

Then, also have the block stop scrolling for now.

After that, have the LevelASM code continuously check the number of sprites left alive, and if there are none (X will return either 1 or zero [not sure which] when there are no sprites left), you can either set the scrolling back on, or, if you wanted the level to take and exit or end, you can do that as well.

Hey, if you were really good (you are), you could have the code LDA $002132 after LDA #$EF STA $002121, and either end the level, take the exit, or resume scrolling, depending on what entry $EF in the level palette is, using CMP's and the like!

Well, controller override is where you can set a specific RAM WORD (not byte, word), and the routine will overwrite the controller inputs with that. the problem is, without that, you can't control jumping because those commands are handled before the blocktool cammands are handled.

Controller override into LevelASM? No. I can however, tell you (later) which RAM addy's to set to have the code do your nidding.

The code overrides the controllers with your requested controls when you set RAM address A (for now), and load the settings into RAM address B.

Impressive. Now, since you've done that, why not redo Luigi's sliding stats as well, and I could do up a lemetaal file for it.

Oh, and I'll PM you about something too.

Nice. Have you tried to see what happens when you set a value to it mid-game?

You can get all the files you need (if you're using a windows platform) from places like google.ca.

I do that every time I reinstall windows, it's easy.

OR you could just use the 'fast BG scroll' block in blocxktool, like I did for COTMK 1.
