Did we ever find out what was making so many Super Mario Universe ROMs messed up? I couldn't find a solution on the topic on the old board, so I figured I should just make one here to see if any solutions were ever found for this.
YI1: Stops at "Mario start!" screen. Iggy's Lab: Mario's on white screen, just falls and dies. I was definitely not the only one having this problem, but I didn't see any new topics about it when I searched. |

It's one of the hacks in the Hack Database.
Well, I'd do that to solve the problem, but both A: I don't want to change my emulator, and B: Some people said the problem remained even when they switched to SNES9x. |

No, that version still seems to have the glitch. I guess I'll just try the SNES9x thing...
Ugh... it worked on SNES9x, but I hadn't realized how much I would hate it. It has pretty much none of the kickass features of ZSNES. I'm just gonna wait until we can find a surefire method of getting a good hack out of it. (edited by MikeOShay on 04-07-06 11:36 PM) |

Nice new Dry Bones sprite. I think it would be easier to compare the two turn blocks if the second one also had a clear background when turning, like the first one does, for a more even contrast between them. With the blue background on the one to the right, it just seems too... crammed. | |||

First off, about the status bar: Would I be able to make it a completely different style of bar in different levels? I mean, in one level it'll be in one style, but in another it'll be completely different?
If it can be done, then can someone either give me the jist of how do ASM-hack it (I mean, REALLY dumb it down for me) or how to do it in an easier way? Now, onto my boss question. I'm going to be trying to replicate SM64's Bob-Omb Battlefield into a hack and need to know if there'd be a good way of putting in King Bob-Omb. He doesn't hurt you when you run into him and he can be picked up like a shell and is only hurt when thrown. Is there any way I'd be able to program him into the game? Or will I just have to graphic-hack Big Boo and change the blocks you hit him with into Bob-Ombs? |

It worked! Thanks, Xeruss! I didn't know it was unlocked, so that would've never occurred to me. Yeah, to fix it, just move one object around (even back to its original place) and save the level.

I tried patching the IPS file to a clean ROM numerous times and there was no change, whatsoever. As Skyon said, I think it was created improperly or something. (Not trying to spam, just backing up the fact that there's a problem.) | |||

About your final OW image: There seems to be some sort of glitched sprite or something just to the right of the middle area. Anyone else see it? To me, it looks a bit like a cheep cheep bouncing on dry land, being covered by the pathways. Is this just a glitch, accident, or is it supposed to be there? | |||

Perhaps if you could somehow give the Dino Rhino with the mouth animation some of the same ASM stuff as fire-Mario or the red Yoshi? You know, so that when the "MOUTH = OPEN" stuff is called up, the "THIS THING SHOOTS FIREBALLS" stuff is called at the same time. Would this be possible? | |||
