I really wish I had a screenshot of this. In Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, when Flurrie, the female ghost, uses her blowing power..Mario is standing right behind her 'behind'. And grabbing on to her sides. And with a grimacing face too I believe..

Would it really be so bad to just replace the snake head with a Yoshi head. It would still look OK no? You could maybe try drawing Yoshi on his kart, or maybe riding an eggshell to slide around on. Screw it, I'm opening up YY-CHR right now. Lets see what kinda damage i can do to this game...

Finally, my beloved Toad House is a reality. I have to work on the dirt road more, but I think for the most part everything looks good.

As for some of the other graphics..like the battle scenes..should I completely stick to SuperStar Saga style? Or should I leave some of those high-rez pics of Mario and Goombas. It would be a mix of different styles since I'm not gonna find high-rez OR superstar saga graphics of all the enemies I want in the game.

So basically the game map will be an exact copy of Zebes from the original Metroid? Sorry if this was already stated before, I didn't read the whole thread. I know your adding a new space station area which is cool. But I think it would be nice if you mixed up Zebes just a bit, and not have identical looking rooms like in the original.

But this is a great idea and project though. Really looking forward to what you all come up with.

Interesting note: Once my 27 inch TV fell on my N64 controller. It broke the outer 'shell' and the A and B buttons fell out. I was able to place the buttons back and literally tape the controller back together. And it worked!..kinda. The analog stick was never the same again unfortunately. That was one well put together control...

On the other hand. My old Gameboy pocket. A portable device!..supposedly designed to take some sort of physical abuse..as in putting into pockets..and then maybe I don't know..walking..while in your pocket still. I swear, I just put in in my pocket walked from school to home..boom no longer worked. After only like 8 months of purchase. Sucks too..i had like 3 more pokemon left to catch to complete my Pokedex.

Are you serious? Regular DVD's? Yikes. Of course Nintendo will have some sort of protection...but these days crackers are destroying all kinds of DVD encryption. I just burned a copy of that new...never mind.

Nintendo has always used proprietary media..wonder why they would take such a risk now, since they are ALL about anti-piracy.

I have a 49 Dwarf Paladin, 32 Human Warlock, and a 24 Night Elf Druid. All on Terenas. I must say my Druid and Warlock are so much more fun to play. It just that paladins are just so darn tough that hes leveled the most.

I have also just recently started playing Battlegrounds. Pretty fun once you get a good group going. Unfortunately that takes a good while. Why does it seem that Alliance are always trying to be one man armies while the Horde always play as a team and therefore win so much more.

More tracks and more cups is always better in my book. I ALWAYS feel like there should be more tracks whenever I finish any Mario Kart game. I feel a little cheated when 'Mirror Mode" is unlocked..I think that's a cheap way to add replay value.

MK DS was real nice in the track department..it had what... 32 tracks..yes 16 were not new but they sure felt new to me with better graphics, sound and wi-fi. I think the original MK may have had more tracks though.

The greatest would be if they re-made ALL previous MK tracks (battle arenas too) with at least MKDD graphics with online play..8 player at least...ALL previous power-ups and of course new tracks and power-ups. And how about some weather effects..I think those are loong over due. Some snow levels have had snow falling, but I want to see some rain and fog effects that affect driving...just a little.

I also think a pure Rainbow Road cup might be a little cruel in single player mode. Have you guys ever noticed how the CPU drivers suddenly become freakin Perfect/Cheap/Mean-ASS drivers. I swear to God. lol In every MK, I always breeze through special cup with 1st place finishes easy..then boom, get like 4th or 5th in rainbow road cause the CPU goes freakin Mario Andretti on my ass.

What is the deal with the fascination over these hard hacks. I find it terribly annoying having to savesate after every jump just to get through these levels. I have no issue with a challenging gaming experience. Unfortunately, the level design in too many places is not challenging, its just stone cold difficult for no reason.

I love the sound, I love the graphics,I love the colors, I love how you can shoot at anytime. But why does it have to be this hard? I will never figure this out.

I think you are a great rom hacker Googie and I've always praised your work, but I'm gonna have to do something to counter-act the bad taste this game has left me with since it looked so good yet played so bad for me.

I gonna make a normal SMB1 hack..*gasp* yeah that's right, a non crazy hard SMB1 hack.

My god dude, just do what you feel like doing. Don't let anybody tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing. As long as its legal wherever you live, do it. If you want to make hacks of 20+ year old console video games, do exactly that. If you want to learn a "real" programming language and make apps for businesses, do that too.

This romhacking scene has no deadlines, no money involved, no contracts...its all FOR FUN. If you find you aren't having any fun playing or making games, then move on to something else. If you enjoy playing and making hacks, then it doesn't matter what job you have, what age you are, or what IQ level you posses. Make those Super Mario Bros hard hacks, go for your Final Fantasy + hack, finish up that old Castlevania project, whatever you do, just have fun man.

Don't forget about that shortcut/glitch in that Donkey Kong jungle level in MK64. Somehow you would have to drive up to a spot right before the cave's exit and then glitch through the floor and cross the finish line at the same time...Lakitu would pick you up and set you back on the track, but your lap meter would say you completed a lap. You could have like 10 second laps.

Oh, and Wario Stadium is one of my favorite tracks too. I remember laughing my ass off on that track more than any other. All the ups and downs and that cross-over part where if you fell, you lost huge time...I remember all my buddies and I timing it so that we always used the lightning power as someone was about to jump that. Good times.

You should always read the sticky posts when posting in a new forum.

In the editor database sticky, first page, there is a link to "Advance Map" and "Elite map". Two very powerful and easy to use Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire editors. I believe they support Emerald to a certain degree as well. They are all virtually the same game, so editing Ruby or Sapphire is fine in your case I'm sure.

As for any sort of DBZ editors..well I don't know and I don't think there are any.

Doh' SNN beat me to it.

Your collision detection is definitely funky. Think you could make it so that colliding with the side of a platform won't force you underneath it if you're below the halfway point? Since that's REALLY obnoxious. I'd suggest making it so that until you're actually below it, you won't be able to move to below it.

Also, the jumping feels a bit... weird. Perhaps speed it up slightly? I suppose it's personal preference, but... Yeah.

OK, I got it working now. And I agree 100% with Skreename. Hitting the side of a platform should just stop you from moving horizontally, not force you underneath. And yeah, maybe if you just sped up the jumping and falling process, it would feel more fluid. Jumping on trampolines doesnt feel too good either. Try to have it so that once the player jumps on top of a trampoline, he bounces up automatically.

I'm sure you'll put a life system in place too, starting over from the first level is kinda annoying. But I definitely like the idea of rising platforms, its cool how you have to raise the lava to raise the platforms.

Oh and, I personally, would love if you changed the jump button to the space bar. It feels very awkward using the one hand to move and jump.

Ive never been a fan of these crazy Chaos Field shooters. Don't know what all the hoopla is about. I guess you have to like shooters to appreciate this. I live for F-zero GX...this ain't no F-Zero. I mean like, all you do is hold down the shoot button and ..look at the pretty lights. I got like 8 million points on extreme by doing just that. Quality work though nonetheless.

OK, I got a small question/problem. Its no big deal, all I have to do is remember to save more often. Sometimes when I press F2 to preview a message I just created for an event, I get an error message and RPG Maker XP closes automatically.
The error box reads: " Critical Error C0000005 at address 0049783C"

Is something corrupt? Is it an easy fix? Anyone else ever get this? Anyone give a flying fuck? I'm making a kick ass game, just you wait and see..muhahahaha....ha.

What the heck? lol Is Mario just a stand in for now or are you really gonna keep him in there? I though you were gonna play as a movie reel..Anyways, everything is better, but not perfect, Im sure you are aware. Collision is still not spot on. Your health meter should scroll up with the player. Are you gonna add a sound or effect for when you get hit by an enemy or lava or when you hit the green button to open the door? Also I got stuck in a wall in the second level. Are you going to add an abort button to restart a level, most puzzle/simple platform games have a restart button.

What do you mean? You download the .nsf file of Castlevania from Zophars. You download the .ips file provided by Optomon. You use an ips program to patch the .ips to the .nsf file. You can then listen to the new music using WinAmp..provided you have the plugins to play .nsf's.

By then way, I love track 5 and 7. I also loved track 8, as soon as you mentioned it was from Castlevania 2, I quickly dusted of the game. I never really liked Castlevania 2, but I guess a simple excuse was all I needed to play through it.

Great work Optomon. You too Dr.Mario.

I would love to beta test your Metroid hack Dude Man. With the experience I gained while working on my hack, there should be no reason why I shouldn't be able to fix any palette issues you have... I think. Interestingly enough, I never encountered a stray door while making my hack, but I have an idea of what may be causing it and I may know how to fix.
I will PM you an email you can send your .ips through if you want.
