If there's a way to edit Mario's powerups, we could add new ones without replacing the old ones. for example let's say we want Fire flower, cape and ice flower, we could create the sprite of the ice flower that sets Mario's status to a value. Then we copy the fire mario's data in that value and edit it to create the ice mario.

But that would be very hard I guess... and maybe the data corresponding to the values of mario's power is used by other things...

Yes, but what about the innocent folk.
Oh, what was that "Blow up the board" link again!?

I revived a closed topic in the display case! is that a very bad thing?!

1. Smoke in the trees?
2. Holes in the trees?
3. What happened with the groud here?
4. Nothing wrong here.
5. It's ok.
6. This part remembers me to Super Mario Land... and these graphics are from a hack that recreates super mario land... Tell me he knows to use Ex graphics... and Sgraff never released an unlocked demo...
7. Some little details... but anything important...
8. It's ok.

overall:
- Level desing is not too bad...
- I actually like the idea of finding keys and bringing them to a place
- He has to do something with the 3rd screenshot
- IS HE EDITING OVER THE MARIO LAND HACK??!

I checked it. Yes, is.

he is not using SML GFX. He is editing over the whole SML demo. The mario's house level is in the sgraff's SML too.

Hack other people's hacks and claim it as yours = thief

It would be possible to make a bully from SM64, and it would be easy. change Chuck's graphics to a bully and instead of hurting Mario move him fast in a direction like the moving blocks in blocktool.

Awesome XDDDD

I want to see a hack with legoman in it, and Mario has to get his revenge. The levels consist in killing legoman in whatever way. =D

No, it'll be done when sprite tool is released, there should be an enemy called legoman. It doesn't hurt you, but you can't kill him jumping over him. He dies if he touches any enemy or falls in lava.
The levels are completed by killing legoman, like if he was a boss.

As for Smallhacker's video...well, you still have to do that with the other 3/4 of this forum before your final line stands true

but they aren't used in the real game, is only in yoshi's house level, which is unusued.

this is why we have to write chelsea (or other thing, I can't remeber...) in lunar magic before releasing anything...

One thing is to make a bad hack, then people give him advice.
But ignore the advice the people gives you to improve or and steal other people's work and claim as your own are completely different things.

If he thinks he doesn't deserve this and want to make us see we were mistaken, then he has to start to make something by himself. Searching for information and thinking if the other people will like it or not. When he comes out with a hack where he has put his effort, then I'll take back everything I said about him and everyone here should do the same.

And I would teach him how to make that good hack if he wants. Not telling how to do things, but helping him to understand stuff so he can figure it out by himself or pointing what he should correct to make it look right and everything else.

first of all welcome ajstal8, you seem a nice person, not a n00b ^^
as rich said, there is information about how to use the program around the middle of the thread, and i think it'll come with a help file and a faq.
roms requests aren't allowed in this forum, but you have to find a .v64 or a .z64 rom since these are the only ones that will work with the editor. (not at all but whatever)

and some things seem complicated to me too but if you put effort in it and dedication you'll understand it ^^

second, I think is better to stop with this thing of iGod and the newbs and talk only about sm64 hacking.

back on topic: I've played around with the textures again, I never thougt that RPGmaker chipsets would look good in sm64 XD but for some reason it adds blue lines to grey.

I'm thinking in learning ASM to make my ideas actually possible...

I was thinking that if this can edit mario's fireballs you can make fire flower to be ice flower or whatever comes in your mind very easily, for example to make an ice flower you simply change the collision with enemies and maybe the direction they go or bombs that go first up and then down (can be done by simply editing the movement) and when it hits something they explode or whatever thing.

Before this gets closed, I would like if you tell legoman that I will help him and teach him to make good SMW hacks if he wants. (the last 2 lines of my last post) so he can show what he can really do and that way we won't have any reason to tell him what we all said in this thread.

BTW, did anyone ever notice this? In Hazy Maze Cave (level 6) head left from the entrance and look down the bottomless pit. If you look close you can see a yellow dot, and I think a green one too. If you consider the level's layout, then directly below this area should be the small pond, in which there are yellow and green ! boxes. I figure the "bottomless" pit here is actually just a hole leading down to that area, but with some object placed in it that kills Mario. The distance prevents the polygons from being visible, but you can still see the ! boxes.

I think this is just the yellow box in the room where you find the elevator down to the underground lake, and the green box is the one at the bottom of the elevator shaft. Because of the distance you can't neither see the polygons or recognise the distance between these boxes!! Have you tried to moon jump up from the underground lake?? You'll come up where the big rocks roll down and then exit the level.

PJ64, Wireframe Rendering

I see boxes, and they're green, so maybe you're right.
When I backwards longjump through the wall using the first elevator that goes up in the beginning of the level, usually I hit one of those boxes or at least that area and die. Or rarely, I'll miss the boxes/area and hit an invisible wall that will make me fall down right in front of the door to the metal cap room.

I think that's the toxic labirinth or whatever is called. The green boxes are obiously the metal caps, and you can see a yellow polygon. And this would make sense becouse there's an elevator that goes from the labirinth to the upper part of that area.
when the editor comes out we should remove the thing that kills mario and jump nto the hole to see what's there.

I smell a sucky host... anyway the yellow polygon is probably the camera icon.

umm.. that picture isn't mine...
and I wasn't speaking about the camera icon, I was tired and I thought the brown lines were more yellow.
