June 21st?? that's too long... XD
Nevermind, take your time ^^

ToadsTool 64 isn't a bad name... but I would have prefered something more original like Teresa Obake or Mario Paint 64... XD

I know what Mario paint is, I said it becouse the program can edit the courses, and the courses are paintigs so maro paint 64.

What would be cool is a SMB1 level, the level limits can be changed so there's only space for one square. The textures would be changed to seem like SMB1. and we could use another invisible block to make pipes that you can't enter.

But of course there's tooooo much way to that, anyways we can sill dreaming...

I think it's becouse is on a subscreen boundary, try placing it in another place and see if it stills doing it.

I prefer 8 bit, the original idea was 8 bit... and I see it more fun that way...

also, if it was 16 bit then there would be less characters... only Samus and some more... while in 8 bit you could play as Kraid... and it would be harder to desing the phisics of the game and harder to the users to customize their own characters...

But this is not my game, so do whatever you want.

It's cool, but it has some bugs... for example in big boo haunt, in the room with the red bars and conects the firts floors, there's something like a black wall...

I can help with 8 bits sprites (the only sprites I'm good with XD)

One friend of mine had an idea: on the missions (I was thinking in something like FFTA for this) there will be one that is to find a misterious characer, is Luigi. He will walk around all the game, randomly, and if he sees a player then he will chase him. If he touches you you are killed and go back to the metroid hospital. He is the strongest character in the game.

But better not to put that, or atleast for now...

Also, I was thinking that the original metroid map is too smal for an online game... so we could do new areas and more items ^^

I'm back here from a long time (I had no internet for a while T_T) You are doing a very good job VL-tone ^^

#1 - Let's say in Bomb-Omb Battlefield you want to make a 5 secret's star. Some examples of where I hide them would be:
-Under one of the Logs
-In a Cannon Hole
-In a Breakable Box (The bigger ones, that you can't carry)
-Up a Tree
-In a ! Box
Then The star could appear like, under the stone arc, where the big purple ! switch is.
Seeing as ,in a way, there's already a 5 secrets star (The 5 rings) will this be possible?

I think that you could move the invisible objects to other places, so yes.

#2 - Will it be possible to completley modify the conditions for a star to appear? Like in Bomb-Bomb Battlefield: make Star 1 a '5 Secret's Star', or Star 2 a "Boss Star", or Star 3 the "Red Coin Star", etc. Or even make misssions for the stars in, for instance, the Bowser stages completely different other than the Red Coins.

I don't know... but i dont think so... at least not in this version...

#3 - You think that eventually we could implement new kinds of missions? Like:
-Imputing Codes/Passwords
-(Other than the Haunted Books and chests) Pressing other things in a certain order, like switchs, or swicthes with letters on them, which could be a way of imputing a password or code.
-Time Trailing for a certain time, not just in the secret slide
-Collecting other items to make the stars appear.
-Aquiring Keys

I don't see the password thing possible... abot the thing in a certain order, maybe with some ASM would be easy... The collecting items can be done by moving the "secrets" objects on them, so the player gets both. About the keys... maybe using the same thing as before, but instead of making the star appear can make a door to open or something...

(actually I'm lying, the weirdest thing I ever did was to make Mario stay in the air when he jumps, but then I noticed that someone made it before me... >_<)

now let's get back on-topic...

I found a big bug, if you die in brinstar, some of your powerups may go away (Energy tanks and Misiles). Also, all the powerups reappear again...

About the gameplay, the game is hard (It's almost imposible until you get the first energy tank XD) but in a good way.

When Playing with the bottom value, I discovered that by playing with the number after the C you change what part of Mario gets colored different... so the higher or lower you go will determine whether you edit Mario's overalls, shirt, gloves, shoes, face, or hair color

that was what i was searching... not fair... T_T XD

hey! the blizzard Lakitu was my idea! ì_í (but I posted it to share it, so whatever XD)
hack the pallete and the graphics and you'll have a 90% YI Blizzard Lakitu (I think it throws the lighting to Yoshi instead of directly to the ground, and the fire was longer... Is there a way to make this?)

The corruption thing always crashed, so I tried to mess with random data in TileMolester, Hexecute and virtual nes memory viewer. I found in TM some vertical lines, I guess that's the level data. I messed up with it and I messed the whole level (it crashed the first time, but the second it modified some enemies positions)

Thanks for your help ^^

I have one small question. Will we be able to change one type of object into another (ex: the stone star in the castle garden into a level warp [don't steal this idea, is for my Uraniwa hack!! XD]) or delete and add objects?
And when the poligon editing comes out, will we not only edit the mesh, but also edit the bones (you know, if we make Goomba's leg look like Mario's arm it still has one bone while Mario's arm has 2 or 3 and it of course wont move the same way) and edit how the bones move in each action? (Ex: make a goomba walk by rotating its legs or something)

I think the stone is a polygon, but you may maybe move it. In that case you should just move it somewhere you can't see it and the warps should be editable so you could place a warp there.

Evereything (except coins and other 2D stuff) are polygons, I was asking if we could delete objects and add new ones or we could change between the diferent types of objects (goombas aren't the same types of objects as a floating plataform might be). If not I guess that move it would be a solution.

Corrupting half the ROM is likely going to crash it. I like to stick to corrupting one bank at a time, then start narrowing down when you find the bank that has the effect you want.
Also it's good to use a value like 0x20 instead of zero or random, because it's easier to tell what's changed. Suppose you use zero and when you start the game, your character is standing on nothing. How do you know what you did? Maybe you wiped out the level, the tile arrangements, the palettes, the graphics, etc. With 0x20 it should be easier to tell. If you wiped the level you'll be standing on garbage; if it's tile arrangements the level will be just the same 8x8 tile over and over; if it's palettes everything will be an odd colour, and if it's graphics, usually all of the graphics will be reduced to vertical lines.

That's a good idea, I'll try that.

If you look at a ROM in a graphics viewer, you can genrally spot pointer tables by the presence of vertical lines. That's what pointer tables look like when expessed as pixels.

...I found in TM some vertical lines...

Thank you again for your help ^^

About my current progress: For what I've found, levels seem to be made like the objects in SMB that edited if the next part was a hole, had celling, etc. but there are ones for each different height part (I think there are only up and down parts but I don't know.)
Also the places I recognized were completely intact, but in other positions... that confuses me a bit...
here are two screenshots of the same position of the level

Edited
I'll make a thread for this when I get enough data to know what I'm doing XD
