| * The White Hole, and everything around it shook. Suddenly, it all compressed into a white ball around Metal Man, and then in a huge flash, it was gone. Metal, shining a blinding white color, raised his fists in anger, channeling his power to the maximum. *
"THIS IS IT! I'M TAKING YOU DOWN NOW!" * He took off at high speed towards Dracoon, hurling ultrafast bolts of lightning from his hands, and rapidly strafing left and right. Once he reached Dracoon, though, his strategy changed dramatically. He began flailing around wildly--or so it would seem. Actually, he was performing hundreds of kicks, punches, headbutts, elbow attacks, and smacks in fast-motion, attempting to shred his opponent into oblivion in one supernova of martial arts moves. Every hit, or even touch, from this supercharged maniac burnt; one could only imagine the pain of being hit full-on. * |

| I am an athiest, although I do have some beliefs which seem to fall outside and below any universal religion, mainly because it isn't based too much on faith and mostly on self-determination.
I believe life is meaningless and that thusly we must assign a meaning to it ourselves. Furthermore, that people are reincarnated. At least, I sure hope they are, it'd be a waste to have only one go at life. Regardless of that, the major power in the world is of human will. Belief in oneself is the ultimate power, in my mind. If I believe I can do it, it usually helps me, regardless of my actual ability. This isn't so much a spiritual boost as it is a morale boost, somewhat like DnD. Furthermore, other religions draw upon the collective human will of those who believe in it. It's sort of enbulous beyond this point, though, because I've never been religious. Claiming that no true religion has come and told me it was real in the flesh, I don't happen to believe in any of them, save for the fringe things. I respect all religions, as long as they don't involve obvious evil (you know, ritual sacrifice of unwilling people and that sort) and believe that one must choose their own path to spirituality. I do not think that I am right and that everyone else is wrong; rather, I have my opinion and they have theirs. The truth is hidden from us all; unless one belief or religion is scientifically proven to be true and made overwhelmingly 'real' in some miracle or event, I shall remain self-guided and place all faith in myself, so that if I'm the last person in existance, I will still be going. What I hate most is when religions do bad things in the name of good, regardless of belief. There is a thin line between faith and fanaticism, and some people fall too far from their own precepts. I advise that those who believe in any one doctrine to read all there is (within reason) about it, lest they believe in something which they know not much of. I advise general goodwill and world peace, as war only kills people. No one religion or belief can be considered 'right', in my mind. Science, of course, reigns high up there, although once again one must be careful. I hate it when religion interferes with proper science; but wish that government, instead, would prevent the more outlandish things without any religious sentiment attached. I could go on very long, but those are my beliefs, and you are free to take them any way you wish.  |

| Great idea. All the old hobos and homeless people can congregate outside your store and build a shanty town, since there won't be any teenagers to hassle them.
It's called a food chain; take out Teenagers, and you'll have annoying and angry old men to deal with. Take out them, and Soccer moms... etc. |

| Well, you know, unlike some things, Christmas and co. don't offend me. Most of us in my family are athiests, and hey, look, we're playing Christmas songs and have a Christmas tree up and the whole nine yards. If they're gonna get all touchy about religion, why don't they take 'God' out of our money and our pledge of allegiance, huh? Huh? Who cares if someone says Merry Christmas? I mean, come on. | I went through quite a bit of independent study. I am an athiest. Whenever people try to tell me something else than evolution in a classroom, it can and will offend me, especially if there is no recourse for evading it/telling them my viewpoint/seeing that it is not government sponsored. Thusly if they really do wish to teach this "ID", then they need three separate classes: Evolution, Creationism, and ID. A person would have to take one of them; if they choose, they could take all three. Either way, the classes would make no statements about what was right or wrong; merely three ideas and any evidence which does support their existance. It is understanding we need, not a lack of it. Of course, this may run into problems. What about the other religions and their views on the creation of the world? It'd take hundreds of classes to include them too.
In the end, it's uncool to force people to think one way or another. |
