| And as soon as the message box text goes off, the water disappears!

| Well, its not a glitch. In the original game there were never message boxes in a level with Layer 2 water. The reason is because the message comes up on Layer 2 making all Layer 2 things in the level disappear. | |||

| Yeah, that's layer 3 water, not layer 2 water.
Layer 2 is like. Objects that aren't on layer 1. Also, the background, in most levels. |
