Alright, I'm going to be getting one soon, primarily for NES emulation. Maybe some GBA too, but probably not much.
But, I'm new to this, so I don't know which type I should get. I figure someone here should have some experience with them... |

I've got the EFA card and it works great.
Better sources for flash card choosing and where to buy would probably be provided via the PocketHeaven Forums or even their wiki |

hm, thanks. On a related note, I read that PocketNES has some graphics glitches in some of the games I wanted to play - Crystalis and SMB3 being the notable ones. How bad are the glitches in those games?

I've never played Crystalis, but Super Mario Bros. 3 is still playable. The status bar has some rather odd glitches where the top few lines flash, and the sprites appear glitched for a split second during tileset changes. In short, I'd recommend you buy SMA4 instead.

Eh, I have SMA4. I saw changes in the first level of the game, and beat the entire game far too easily - I beat every level in world 6 and 7 without any trouble, for example, they usually take about a dozen lives each because of my typically frequent fuckups. Besides, there's other games I wanted to play, too, but most of them are working fine according to the compatability list I read.
There's also the possibility of a few rom hacks, but getting those to work could be rather unpredictable. |
