Recently I snagged my own copy of Diamond Caves III (the full-version of course), and it ROCKS. No pun intended... The game is basically Boulder Dash with like a hundred different game elements to work with, AND a Level Editor. I mean, you've got, like, conveyor belts, dynamite, treasure-chests, a bunch of kinds of enemies, lots of different jewels each with own effects... The list can go on forever. Basically, it's very diverse. Google it if you've never seen it before.

Well, whaddya guys think of THIS?

My first level with the game! The timer's set to 360 and for a damn good reason! I played it, beat it on Try 1, works great, no bugs at all (literally, even ), and needless to say I'm very very happy. (Notes: The yellow and green Light Barriers are initially set to ON, there's a Mole in the chest, both Amoebas do NOT grow, the Forcefield Coin is set to about 10 seconds, the Green Wheel Doors are set to about 3.5 seconds.)

I want to ask you guys... Do any of you make levels, how many of you even know about the game, and what do you think of my first level? I'll have a downloadable file ready on my website once I've got enough levels ready... The game does cost money to get the full version, but there ARE some cracks and such out and about... use discernment.

Well, I don't know a whole lot of Chinese, but I managed to stumble around a website provided by Google long enough to find the download links... none of which gave me a file that extracted successfully. So after a while I'll keep looking... I just thought I'd drop in my twenty-four cents before anyone else could.

I am a huge fan of boulder dash.

I am a huge fan of the Schwa.

I am a huge fan of this level.

This gets the Koneko Seal of Approval as soon as I dig up the zip disk that contains the image. Gimme a sec.

There we go!

The homepage of Diamond Caves III. That's where I first found out about the game...

Well, I downloaded it. There's a really big glitch, though. If you playtest a level in the editor, and during the level you just sit there for more than a few seconds, all the gems turn into enemies. This is Really Bad, because for example in the training level where you guide the bugs to the amoebas with light barriers I had all the gems done and as picking them up, then I stopped to hae a sip of my soft drink... The emeralds turned into bugs and killed me.

Weird.

That happened to me, too. There's a patch to fix it, but by law I don't think I can give the site name... Google something like 'Diamond Caves 3 crack'; the site where I got the fix has a grey-fading background.

Edit: Not a glitch, to be honest. The author states in his site FAQ that that feature was put there to activate when someone typed in a bad Registration Code. Sneaky, really, but that's what the patch is for...

Really? That sucks. Because I actually activated the game legitimately. Because if I made a game I'd rather get money than have people crack. But if the code I got back wasn't right, then off to search I go...

That looks kind of cool. When I was younger and I had Windows 3.1 I played games that look similar to that one... and they have level editors too. Unfortunately I only had the demo versions so I could only make like 1-5 levels at once, then I have to delete them and make new ones. Although I downloaded one of them about a year ago and it's the full version, but I never play it.

But yeah, that's a cool-looking level.

Well, eventually I got fed up with the lack of his believing that I activated it with money, so I fiddled around with the game and opened the features myself.

But anyway, I made A Level. Opinions? Comments?

Link because it's big and might stretch your tables

It's possible, but probably not on your first try if you've never seen it before. You start with six minutes of time, but it's probably not enough so you'll have to pick up the extra three minutes of time coins you see at the bottom. You have 25 moves (6.16 seconds) for the time gates. There are 216 gems, one of which you cannot collect, and you need 200 to beat the level. The replicator spawns remote bombs, and it's fairly obvious that you only get one ignite.

And I'm a nasty evil person, for the other level I made... But since it's mostly invisible blocks, showing the map would ruin it for you.
