Montreal beat Toronto a week or 2 before that 6-2 win, they won that game 5-1.

I'm looking forward to Friday's Detroit v. Chicago game.
The past two games for Detroit have ended in heart dropping shootouts. Hopefully the Wings will get the W. A victory on home ice might really boost spirits after our recent losses. |

Being a Red Wings fan myself, it was bad enough seeing Legace lose what would have been his 7th shutout (2nd in a row) against the Blues with 50 some seconds left. The Wings are currently the best team point wise so I can't complain.

Boston forgot how to score against Montreal (they haven't scored against them in 210 minutes)

The craziest thing, Detroit, the best team by points(maybe not anymore) lost to a couple of the worst teams in the West. They lost to Columbus and Chicago.
This can go to show you how these rules can really change the way the game is played. Although I love the old rules, in a way, I believe the new rules set a new tempo to the game of hockey and I kinda feel it's better. |

Oh, the regular season is near it's end. I can't wait for the playoffs. Oh and I just found a certain picture, which just had to be posted. |

Man that was an awesome picture DarkSlaya. I can't wait for the playoffs either, maybe more games will be shown, hopefully. Detroit might clinch the President's Trophy tonight if they win against Edmonton. (edited by acillatem98 on 04-11-06 09:04 PM) |

And they did. Meaning they're cursed and won't win the Cup I'm guessing.
I *think* Montreal's officially in with a win tomorrow against Buffalo. Not sure but I think we'd be up by 7 points with 3 to go. |

Ok I have a question. I've never seen this before and have no idea why it's how it is. In the points standings, I see that on the Eastern Conference that the 4th place team has more points than the 3rd. Here's what they are straight from the NHL site:
Eastern Team Pts. 1 Ottawa 110 2 Carolina 109 3 NY Rangers 100 4 Buffalo 102 Shouldn't Buffalo be 3rd or is there some rule I haven't seen? Colin: I hope what you said about Detroit doesn't happen. |

NY Rangers are division leaders.

That makes a lot more sense now. Seeing that on the site and during a game, it just looks funny.

San Jose clinched a playoff spot yesteday
Habs will need to earn one point in their next game, or hope the thrashers lose their next game. |

3 games left (Habs, Laffs, Canes) and playoff bound!
Montreal beat Boston, but Atlanta beat Washington, so no clinchage yet, Colin. 2 spots up for grabs in both conferences. |

San Jose beat the Canucks the other day and single-handedly, set the remaining two teams of the Western Conference playoffs.
Montreal still needs just 1 point to clinch, or a thrasher loss. |

Our first round opponent (either PHI, NJ, or NYR) is still up in the air...
In other news we whooped the Laffs 6-0 |

Actually, Montreal still needs the Thrashers to not get 4 points in their last 2 games, OR have Tampa Bay lose their last game, OR get a point against Jersey.
The odds are not against us. |

My dad is a Montreal fan too, but his hopes aren't as high for them for some reason even though they'll probably make it.
Playoffs coming up soon, I can't wait. I just hope they show at least most of the games on tv, I don't get too many as of now. For now, I'm going to watch the Red Wings play the Stars. EDIT: Wow, what a game between Detroit and Dallas. Dallas up by 2 until the Wings made a great comeback within the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period. Scored the last 3 goals to take the win. If Detroit gets a point in their last game, they tie Montreals' record of having at least 1 point 21 games in a row. (edited by acillatem98 on 04-17-06 09:44 PM) |

Told you the odds weren't against Montreal. Washington 6, Atlanta 4.
Montreal is IN! (Oh, so is Tampa Bay. Yeah.) |
