Exclusive to lololol now, but I still leave default HTML viewing program to still be IE because I like the IE HTML icon more than the lololol HTML Icon

The GameFAQs poll today really surprised me because it's a simple browser poll... and even though this likely doesn't apply to the entire site's population, 53% (at last check) use lololol or one of its variants.
Microsoft has some pretty high standards to live up to come IE7's release. |

Opera gets all the hate
And technically it's Mozilla and its variants, not lololol and its variants. |

See, that makes perfect sense. And to be fair, I can't see any reason why lololol users would bitch about the new layout, really.
Kyouji: Well, that is true. But it seems that lololol is the Mozilla-based browser of choice among the variants, so... |

lololol users hate it because it screws with their GameFOX extention.
GameFOX is an extention which basically turns GameFAQs in to every crappy message board ever. No freaking clue why people like it. |

So there just needs to be a new version of the extension released. Simple but I can see how structural changes force that.
...You mean the boards can become MORE crappy? |

Umm...it isn't exactly that. It just adds a couple of extra features, such as a quickpost box and post numbering. The rest is just stuff to help implement the old blue scheme from GameFAQs, among other things. It hardly turns it into "every crappy message board".

The old blue layout was kind-of boring, though. The "classic" one was better.
And numbering was pointless, and the quick post thing basically did nothing but encourage even worse posting by making it so people had less of an opportunity to spot errors. Clicking one more button is not a bad thing... Sheesh, here I practically always hit preview reply, too. |

Eh... I liked the last layout as well. The first one would be nice in a nostalgic way but looking back, it's definitely improved.
Some of the people there apparently have nothing better to do than bitch about the layout, though. |

Exactly, Colin. And those people are apparently the ones in the majority... Or at least they're the loudest.
Looking at the site suggestions board, it's... It's just sad. |

I wonder if the poll tomorrow will be about the new layout, and people's reaction to it.
Like most polls, it'll probably come to nothing no matter what the reaction is. |

People will say they hate it, duh.
It's particularly saddening when you have people running around who CLEARLY don' t know what they're talking about. everyday17 is the person who comes to mind at the moment. This is just sad. |

Jesus, only 45% of my screen width is used with that layout. Fixed layout width sucks, though then it might been like that with the old layout too. I don't visit that site much nowdays. (edited by Ailure on 04-12-06 07:11 AM) |

Just curious, but how many people here actually go to the original site? You know, this one?
I sometimes do. |

I never really go to the original site, but I have occasionally gone to the boards on that site to check out some old things, as everything from when I was there is still around.

I was never a part of that board, so I go there often to read up. It's interesting to see how people have changed, and sort of get to know the "legends" that aren't around anymore, like Acmlm for example.

Meh, I only check out the original site if I need to look up information on an old, old member. I do visit the second incarnation fairly often, however. Mostly to retrieve old ROM/Hack information and stuff.

I've only been to the first incarnation while I was wiki-ing
I should probably like, look at it. Sometime. |
