Originally posted by Riku I pointed that odd relationship out in the secret bosses thread. It is surprisingly similar, isn't it? Spoiler: Of course, Final Fantasy creators have always made referances to Star Wars, examples being Biggs and Wedge in a lot of their games (as well as Chrono Trigger). Still, he's a helluva lot easier to beat in the second game. |

Got the game Friday night and beat it Monday Night at a little under 30 hours. I must say that after completing it and going to complete sidequests, I am disappointed. I don't see any optional bosses other than Sephiroth and collecting items for synthesis is quite easy with my stats. So... there really is nothing to do other than start a new game (good thing for skip scene during cinematics, though...).
...the game was a bit too easy, however. The hardest boss in the game? Spoiler:
Xigbar. That damn gun move which he is invincible and nearly kills me... gah! The thing that made this game too easy was the information bar at the top left of the screen. Without that the game would have been harder. Alongside the reaction commands, which made me just press triangle as many times as possible during a fight to randomly do a reaction command. If they made it to where you could only press triangle at a set time only, then it would have worked better. Still, it is a good game. The Gummi ship sequences are more fun, and the worlds were nice other than them being way too linear... Also, the limit move with Tron = winner. Now to try Proud mode. Maybe it will be harder than standard... (edited by cpubasic13 on 04-05-06 09:32 PM) |

Spoiler:
Zigbar wasn't that hard. You just had to know how to move and when. I found that using the warp command with the lasers simplified the fight a bit. I beat it under 30 hours as well, but there's still a lot of replaying that needs to be done. Forms to upgrade, journals to complete, ect. Spoiler: And my god, this last boss... I thought the fight against Ansem in KH took a long time, but... sweet jesus, this was long AND somewhat difficult. Or at least the last part was. The rest was just lots of eye candy, like with the using skyscrapers and reaction commands. |

So is there any actual point to the Gummi Ship this time, or is it even more of a self-contained...mini-game...than it was in the first game?

Everyone knows that Just beat it, just under 30 hours as well. Still need to go back and finish up the journal, then play through it 9 more times. |

Way to take a joke Riku. Anyway, thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about all the cups at the Underdrome.

Sorry.
The Hades Paradox cup is badass. I have to max my level to even MATCH that cup. Just got the stats for the Ultima Weapon and Fenrir... Spoiler: Ultima Weapon: At:6 Mag: 4 Fenrir: At: 7 Mag:1 So pretty much killing Sephiroth gives you the strongest weapon attack wise. |

I'm at lvl 50 now with 30 hours played and I haven't moved on with the actual storyline since I was around lvl 45. I just hate to move on when I know I have to leave soon. But I think I'm good to move on for now.

I love this gummi ship system. Favorite route has to be the one between Port Royal and Agrahba. It's like they ripped a level straight out of F-Zero X, dropped some heartless into it, and gave you an Airwing. =P
Also, found some more Star Wars references. Spoiler: That gummi route to Twilight Town at the end of the game can't be based off of anything but the Death Star, and quite possibly the fight at the beggining of Episode III. Also, did anyone notice Sora and Riku's limit "light saber", which seems to have big beams of light replace their keyblades? |

I've been playing a bit slow, but that's been partially to finish all the minigames. Aside from a few in Twilight Town I need extra abilities to finish, I'm done with every one of them. Currently level 50 and in what I assume is the final area. Played a lot yesterday and today.

Originally posted by Metal Knuckles I like the Broken Highway. It is just awesome, especially when you are on Mission 3, which is hard. Having that one Heartless charge at you with other Heartless coming around you from all other angles. Ah, the tragedy! Somehow with the new Gummi Ship building system I think I am going to make an Arwing Gummi Ship. It shouldn't be too hard, right? If it came out right, it would be awesome to use. ...I still have to complete the journal and the Gummi Ship missions, as well as beat Sephiroth. So far, obtained the Tonberry ship. It... wasn't really great... |

It would be cool to use, but would it work? The levels are a lot more demanding this time, it seems to me. And the minigames are frustrating, especially since you need to do them to get the best ending.

Got this game Sunday, didn't play yesterday or today because of TV issues, and I just locked Land of Dragons for the second time. I tried to lock Beast's Castle a second time, and died 3 times in a row without killing him. And if you've ever died in a boss fight and gotten the option "I will not give up!", you'll know how I got killed 3 times in a row.
I also got Suikoden V, which is why I've been slow playing KH2. (edited by Lord Rahl on 04-07-06 03:53 AM) |

You chose "I will not give up", and still lost three times?

Spoiler:
On the occasional battle, I believe only againt the Organization members, if you fall during battle a white screen will appear saying two options: "I will not give up", or "It's over...", or something like that. Anywho, picking the first would make Mickey appear, and you would control him and fight against the boss. When he falls, you gain control of a re-healthized Sora. I'm not sure it's encouraged though, it appears for how many times you've done it on the battle report. |
