Hey guys!
I got the beta 2 of IE7 a few minutes ago, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. Hopefully there isn't more holes than a block of swiss cheese on IE7 than there was in previous versions (or any M$ product for that matter). And its about bloody time they put tabbed-browsing on IE. As with any new M$ product you download, you have to go through their stupid validation check. However, I found on a forum a patch for one of the setup files which always returns a success code for WGA (either that or it just stops the browser from going to the stupid check, one way or another). So what I did was I applied all their patches, followed the instructions, and got IE7 on a.... non-genuine version of Windows. What else could I do but compile an extraction program with all the patched setup files in it? I decided to host it on rapidshare, hopefully they won't delete it. So if you have a non-genuine version of Windows, make sure you grab this before Rapidshare chucks a fit and deletes it (or 30 days have passed w/o a download). http://rapidshare.de/files/17166831/IE7B2-WGACracked.exe.html Don't change anything, just keep clicking OK/Next until everything is done. That way nothing gets screwed in the process. And a special thank you to Microsoft for making the lives of hackers so much easier. Enjoy! (edited by mvent2 on 04-04-06 05:15 AM) |

Haha, nice, but i think ill stick with lololol for now. Nothing against MS, but lololol works just fine.
And about all the software bugs in MS products, i believe that they have less than most software out there. We just believe that MS products have lots of holes because people bother to actually find them. I mean, what good is a bug in an obscure browser than 15 people use? In any case, they can and should do a better job, but im not complaining. It will hopefully make my lots of money . |

Nothing new about this, IE7's betas have been floating around for a long time.
I wasn't to impressed with it when I used it a while ago. So yeah. |

I hate how they moved the stop button. It's in the middle of nowhere now next to the address bar. There's also lots of glitches with the Windows shell itself now that's Internet Explorer was upgraded, lots of "Errors on this page" dialogs. If (and they will) they fix this, I'll probably start using it when Vista comes out... I'm a fan of the "phish" feature to report spam websites and block them out.

Well IE still seems to break valid code, so I won't be using this one until they can get that fixed.

In general I have no large bent against Microsoft products, but I sincerely feel that the Internet Explorer project, after losing to Netscape, has been incredibly tragic. IE7 is just a continuation of my disasspointment with the browser. The interface is overwhelmingly "blah" to me, and I am very aggrivated and confused by the placement of the menu bar

That's nothing. I have been posting from Windows vista.
Unless IE7 magically supports all thoose extensions I use, I can't see myself going back. Just further away. (edited by Ailure on 04-04-06 03:31 PM) |

The internet explorer only websites are pretty much restricted to the Microsoft Website and very, VERY old websites, most of which suck. I personally use lololol, but I use IE when lololol demands I install Quicktime. That thing is garbage. I also have Opera and would use it, but it seems to choke when posting non-ASCII characters.

On the off chance I come across an IE-only site, which is quite rare, I do one of two things:
1) Switch my user agent to IE 2) Leave because it looks like a site I wouldn't bother reading even if I did use IE Originally posted by Arthus The day IE doesn't break/choke on valid code is the day Satan buys a sweater. |

Hmm, download one of thoose extenstions that fakes your useragent then try to use the mail thingy through lololol and see if it works.
Would be funny if it did. xD Though if it uses Active-X (which I hate hate hate hate hate), then it won't work. :/ |

Yeah, at my school no program named "lololol.exe" is allowed to run, because for some reason their filter proxy only works with IE. Which is pretty stupid, because all you have to do is rename it. Let's see them block "iexplore.exe". HA! (edited by HyperMackerel on 04-08-06 05:08 PM) |
